Sleeper brands/models that offer a lot of bang for buck?

Apr 06, 2023,04:52 AM

A few years ago older Roger Dubois, Daniel Roth, and Parmigiani Fleurier offered immense value for the dollar. The LUC Chopard's were dirt cheap too for something with a Geneva Seal. smile

Something like the Ionica was crazy cheap...and still sort of it, just harder to find.

What are brands like that now?

I just started looking at some of the Franck Muller skeletons, and noticed they are very, very well finished. The aesthetic isn't my thing though.

Extreme lab 1 and 2 Duometre, all of them Montblanc Minerva monopushers

You mentioned Roger Dubuis, and that brand's earlier models have recently piqued my interest.

In fact, it piqued so much, that I went just today and got this one. It to me looks like a classic, and hence, I find it to be a "sleeper" of outstanding crafting and finishing. I think some of the wild and extravagant designs of RD, and the recent astron...

Parmigiani Fleurier and Chopard LUC comes to mind. I think the Chopard Alpine Eagle and Bvlgari Octo Finissimo can be considered value for money in their class.
