My point is thus:

With so many watches being produced, it is (sadly) overwhelmingly shockingly difficult to find an elegant proportioned sized steel gentleman's watch with a timeless simple gorgeous dial, handset and striking indices (here Breguet arabics that have been built up to give great dimensionality) and yes no extraneous embellishments. Who makes this today? Not Patek at any price. Not anyone.
Yes it is pricey, too pricey for me. But unlike every other manufacturer (vide supra), if I had the money, I, without any history or "relationship" with the brand, could put my money and order down, and in 12-24 months get one. No special lists, no special treatment/kissing up, no celebrity status, etc etc . This is a superbly conceived and physically beautiful piece.
As for the movement, I can think of many watches in which the movement is less than stellar, but to me so are the rest of the watch. Here, without necessarily the dream movement, the watch around the movement is stellar.
