My First Independent Watch - A Lange & Heyne Frederick III

May 18, 2018,01:15 AM

Very Happy to acquire this watch. It's my first German watch and also my first independent.

The manufacture Lange & Heyne is headed by renowed watchmaker Marco Lang and they are a small manufacture based in Dresden that only produces 50 watches a year,
The watches are mostly hand assembled and hand made and this one is fitted with an inhouse movement Calibre VI.

This is also a watch that I have bought unseen, and waited 6 months for them to make it. Due to the small production, it's very exclusive.

Overall I am quite happy with the watch. It certainly feels very high quality and the movement is well decorated. My only small gripe is that I wish the black galvanic finish dial isn't quite black enough.

Sharing some pictures.

P/S : The box / packaging is gorgeous !!!

Wonderful finish on the hands, but also the movement is gorgeous. The only thing I never can get myself to really like is the third lug in the middle. I think it distracts from the beautiful dial. Marcus

A stunning watch, those hands are so elegant and appropriate. As if 18th century elegance has arrived in our 21st century. The triple logs are on the one hand bit heavy compared to the case but since this is their century old trade mark, doing without the...

How big is the watch ? And does the lugs stick out of your wrist? Does it sit well?

Thanks

The watch is 39.2mm but it does wears big, perhaps because of the thin bezel. Lugs doesn't stick out but may on a small wrist. Sits very well. Comfort is superb. The leader strap is of very high quality. I plan to do a detailed review of this watch when I...
