your version is the one I inquired about but none available. Overall the annual calendar chronograph is very seductive in person though. Very.

Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda GT Black - The latest entry into the steel sports watch segment

 By: Rosneathian : October 2nd, 2020-16:36
This is my latest, the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda GT Black (ref. PFC910-0000210-B00182). It was launched this July and there are 250 of them. You can buy them directly from the brand's website or at one of its 150 sales points worldwide. Parmigiani will on...

Congrats!

Looking forward to your review of it once you receive it!

Beautiful, congrats!

I am tempted by another model in this collection. I don't remember the name, but I do remember it had some orange accents and an unfortunate abundance of words on the dial. Yours is nice and clean

Thanks much. You're referring to the Tondagraph GT Annual Calendar Chronograph

 By: Rosneathian : October 2nd, 2020-17:01
That's a nice combination of complications, with orange-coloured font in the date and month windows. I know what you mean about the wordage, though. I don't understand why brands feel the need to clutter dials with 'Annual Calendar' next to the annual cal...

This one?

Your welcome. [nt]

Indeed, thanks guys! MONTH, ANNUAL CALENDAR, CHRONOGRAPH...

 By: MichaelC : October 3rd, 2020-06:00
They all gotta go for me. MONTH is the most appalling... maybe they could add HOURS on the short hand and MINUTES on the long one! LOL. Too bad, I love the rest of the details on this watch.

Interestingly, in the latest versions of the Tondagraph GT (released September) PF seems to have listened to feedback and dropped superfluous text.

 By: Rosneathian : October 15th, 2020-18:49
That's not all. There's a new calibre: the PF701 running at 5Hz. This of course matches Zenith's El Primero, a movement that PF used for a time up to the mid-2000s. ...

All true. They must have people working on dial design who insist on sneaking in needless text.

 By: Rosneathian : October 16th, 2020-09:25
For a brand that is known for its artistic panache, the insistence on prosaic text is odd. Imagine Leonardo da Vinci writing the word "face" on the forehead of the Mona Lisa.

Congrats. Very unique and nice acquisition [nt]

Nice package and congratulations...

 By: Clueless_Collector : October 2nd, 2020-18:58
For an OCD person, I wished the brand name is located under the date window and not lopsided at 3pm.

Yes...The integrated bracelet and overall shape, case is done very nicely.

 By: Clueless_Collector : October 2nd, 2020-20:08
There is enough space to put the brand name there, just like the Annual Calendar model.

Thank you. [nt]

Good design here, impeccably executed

Congrats on this new addition. I bet the backside doesn’t disappoint either. Best, Daniel

I think so. [nt]

Without knowing any of the details of the watch, first impression is I like what I see.

 By: Jay (Eire) : October 3rd, 2020-05:48
Now I need to go read about it. I look forward to some live shots when yours gets delivered.

A beautiful piece. [nt]

Big congrats! That's a cool one

Looking forward to seeing the pics of yours when it reaches you...

Hard to beat this at $14,500 usd [nt]

I’ve seen the annual calendar chrono in person...

 By: oyster case : October 14th, 2020-17:45
Very well made and much more refined than their other chronos. The text that gets criticized is very small in person, didn’t bother me at all. I gather the first sixty examples will have extra hand finishing to the movement accompanied by a letter from Mi...

That's interesting to hear. Thanks.

 By: Rosneathian : October 14th, 2020-18:25
The text you mention was also an issue for me, and still is. I like detailed dials, such as on 1930s-1940s Omega-Tissot and Universal Geneve tricompaxes, or Breitling Navitimers. I'm less enthusiastic about extraneous detail. It's one reason I chose the G...

In terms of availability, I was told that PF will not distribute this line in advance of sales.

 By: Rosneathian : October 15th, 2020-18:53
They. will instead only release individual pieces to their sales point when a sale has been confirmed, one by one. PF produces about 6,000 watches a year in total, and the steel versions of these GTs are available in the low hundreds. There are 25 of the ...
