Habring

I went to the Christies auction preview in HK this past Saturday and there were many exciting watches.  Topic of this post, however, is restricted to a Habring with jumpilng seconds hand.

I liked the watch from seeing pictures and liked it even more in person, with one exception. The case is quite thick. Thick enough to take it out of my head as a potential watch to own.

Does the jumping second mechanism require additional width? Is the base caliber thick.

Still like the look of the dial and the jumping second and still a fan of Habring.  Just confused by the proportions of this case.

Any thoughts?
