A must-read: "Daniel Roth: The Story of a Genius in Four Parts" by Denny Grigolo
Feb 25, 2021,20:30 PM
This series provides a sweeping history of Mr. Roth's career as a watchmaker. It touches upon his most influential work at Breguet, and one by one provides an account of each group of references under his eponymous label. The four parts bring the reader up to the present day (2018 at the time of its writing) with his work with JDN.
You can find Denny Grigolo's richly illustrated series online at Orologi di Classe. It is written in Italian and given how private Mr. Roth is and the dearth of material on his work, it is highly recommended reading.

Thanks for the thoughts and photos.

Indeed.

This watch was made after the 50 piece Millenium Roth

In 2000, Roth made 50 pieces (numbered on the back 1-50) for the Millenium. Power reserve, moonphase, 3 styles of guilloche on the dial. Manual wind, see through back. It was a big hit and sold out - but only 50 were made so demand was much higher than su...
Excellent, thank you Sir.

I recently became aware of the Millennium 2000 run x50. The larger case size and solid gold case back of the one pictured above marks it out as part of the follow up. So would you say that this follow-up run began in 2002 or 2003? That would appear to tal...
