Gronefeld Principia Automatic. Some pictures and thoughts.

 By: amanico : August 11th, 2019-13:45
Among all the Gronefeld Principia Automatic, this is the one, in steel, with this salmon / copper dial which is my favorite. I am not a fan of automatic movements, as I find them, most often, less well decorated than a manual winding movement, but there a...

Def a great watch from two amazing brothers .

This version is for sure my fav from the Principia collection although i love there other dials too . I think this watch would looks even better with a micro rotor because the big rotor takes away a bit of the view from there gorgeous movement . Still its...

Now you're making me curious about your first choice šŸ˜³ (LF???)

and the one I've got on order. Can't wait! As others have said, certainly would have been interesting with a micro rotor, as well. Big fan of Laurent Ferrier, as well. Can't go wrong either way, really.

Grin! Thanks

Should be around March from what I understand. Being that they don't deliver to Thailand, I had to order it through their agent in Singapore who has a representative in Thailand.

Grin!

Yup! And get something more interesting at the end of it.

Definitely! [nt]

Remontoir

 By: Jurry : August 11th, 2019-23:48
My thoughts are the other way around. That ā€œholeā€ in the dial to me represents the entire concept Not just if the watch itself but of the story behind it with their dad and grandpa maintaining the church clock in Oldenzaal (which purely coincidental is th...

Pleasure, my friend. [nt]

Thank you for posting!

This is a very nice watch!

It all comes together : the beautiful dial, the well chosen proportions and an interesting movement. I anyway find Grƶnefeld to be one of the most interesting new independants brands. Beautiful pictures as always ! Regards, Gerard

This is certainly a very beautiful Remontoire

... but I believe I share the point of view of Jurry and ZSHSZ the eight seconds complication is so original and the main innovation of this watch and not a gimmick. As for the ā€œholeā€ in the dial it doesnā€™t disturb me at all on the contrary. I would have ...

Grƶnefeld timepieces are outstanding creations.

I'm a big fan of their movements. Your choice looks great, the 39,5 mm case is a big yes. I'm sure we'll see it on your wrist anytime soon. Vte

He he... Who knows? Gracias, Vicente. [nt]

Love this watch and it's also high on my wish list!

 By: DarrenKats : September 16th, 2019-08:48
Although I may prefer the cream dial/roman numeral version a tad more. Great pics!

This watch, with this dial, is very high on my list.

In fact, it is probably the only watch on my list. We'll see; but it's pretty spectacular.

Hah!

I'm pretty confident. I will meet the brothers on October 24th.

That's a scary thought... [nt]

 By: TheMadDruid : September 17th, 2019-18:38

I will be there as well.

Iā€™m very much looking forward to meeting the brothers in October, and thereā€™s more than a good chance Iā€™ll have one of these when itā€™s all said and done.

Will do, my friend!

I think it will be a slice of watch heaven

I am sure of that. [nt]

Is very weak for things like this: ...

Yes, my tastes certainly prefer a manual movement these days.

 By: BMR : September 24th, 2019-12:26
But this one is still incredibly well done, in my opinion. The contrast of finishings and the variety of angles are a feast for the eyes.

may I ask?

How much is home made and how much is outsourced, made by others and bought in? Much of the appeal of independants is, well at least for me, the fact that they are independent. z'
