What is everyone wearing to kick off this week?

 By: holdemchamp1225 : October 12th, 2020-10:17
Either I grew a ton of hair on my arm or Yokozuna stole my watch πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Just received this Roger Dubuis Sympathie bi-retrograde moonphase chronograph in RG. It's a 1st gen (2nd edition) which dates back to 2000 when Roger Dubuis was still an Independent and ...

Spectacular!

If only they were still making watches such as this πŸ™

My Reverso today.

 By: Tyo : October 12th, 2020-10:27
Lot of meetings today, the Reverso is just perfect under the sleeves. ...

Very nice πŸ‘ [nt]

 By: oyster case : October 12th, 2020-10:31

Merci frΓ©rot πŸ˜‰πŸ˜. Just took a couple photos of the movement but sun has already gone down so no more natural light so not the greatest results 😒

 By: holdemchamp1225 : October 12th, 2020-10:44
With my phone, the quality of the photo does not do justice to the stunning movement. Maybe with my DSLR one of these days or just with natural lighting πŸ€” I really like the signature on the sapphire crystal case back πŸ‘ ...

This one is the 40mm model so a great mix of modern size and classic heritage. Currently hunting several 37mm models with Breguet numerals πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

 By: holdemchamp1225 : October 12th, 2020-10:51
Believe me, the finishing is on par with Lange or better. I louped the movement many times since receiving it and it is beyond a Patek 5070 and VC Malte Chrono IMHO πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Agreed πŸ‘πŸ˜ [nt]

And your story about RD. Richemont could be a safe heaven for the brands. They have such a great brands under the umbrella, every brand is unique and great. After the Swatch group, my favorite watch group. I never bought a watch from an independent, but s...

You should definitely look at the Independents. They are simply amazing and truly cater to their clientele...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : October 12th, 2020-10:56
as for Roger Dubuis, the early pieces are still attainable at this point but the market is changing rapidly so who knows what it will be in the near future. All I know is that these early pieces are just stunning in terms of quality, uniqueness, and craft...

Thank you for the advice

 By: Weems@8 : October 12th, 2020-12:37
The first time i mentioned RD was the release of the diabolus in machina. Getting the early pieces, i go check chrono24.

Modern Dubuis is cadran different than the early days which were much more classic. Today, Dubuis is all about high tech and modern, sort of along the lines of Richard Mille...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : October 12th, 2020-12:47
whereas early Dubuis is more like classic Patek and VC. As for finding early editions, they are slim pickings as they often get scooped by connaisseurs of the brand. There are a few BIG collectors out there that literally have hundreds of 1st and 2nd gen ...

Great looking watch from the good old days

 By: Juliusotto : October 12th, 2020-10:55

No indie for me today. I lusted for this mezmerizing blue dial. Doesn’t show under the dim yellow light in this shot but still looks kind of cool. Cheers, Daniel ...

Huge Congrats . One amazing and spectacular RD 😍

Missed out on one not to long ago . Hope to find a beautiful example like yours in the near future πŸ™πŸ»

Such a beautiful and intriguing piece, especially with the case shape!

 By: jleno : October 12th, 2020-14:55
I know relatively little about RD except the fact that brand is very different today from what it used to be. Any thoughts on their current watches?

Indeed early RD and what we see today is vastly different...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : October 12th, 2020-15:03
If you do some research you will see for yourself the genius of the man when he was at Patek for 20 years and when he decided to start RD back in 1995. His early pieces were of the highest quality, arguably better than equivalents pieces from AP, Patek, a...

Agreed, it's too bad that the market did not support the brand in its original form...

 By: jleno : October 12th, 2020-15:33
That being said, I do think the newer watches are interesting as well. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with in the future! And definitely send me that reference guide when you get a chance, would love to take a look at it!

A very special piece you have here. Is it a sandwich dial? I had never noticed until now and looks to be in this picture.

The dial's ceramic, and if memory serves correct . . .

 By: Dr No : October 22nd, 2020-16:47
. . . it's one piece, but I'll check with our resident DornblΓΌth experts.
