The clickspring is integrated inside the crown wheel itself - just barely visible in the last photo.

Two clicks are fixed to the inner ring of the crown wheel, which both interact with a fixed star wheel/ratchet hub.

The hub itself can freely rotate slightly, as it has two radial track/grooves. This allows for the "slack" to prevent overwind of the mainspring at its fully-wound limit, just like a regular clickspring.

Keaton himself had once admitted, on Instagram, that during disassembly/servicing, relieving the mainspring power with such a setup is tricky, and he needed to make a special tool to allow for it. This is because when you consider that the clicks are mounted onto the crown wheel, so the clicks will continuously rotate together with it as the mainspring unwinds!

Really impressed with his work and contemplating to make an order calibre 29.30 are based on the Unitas 6497 The finishing is really great At 42mm it’s a bit big but still acceptable and surely has presence on the wrist What do you think of this watchmake...

I like balance bridge

and he really has some nice details - like screwed chaton and well sunk jewel holes. One mystery is how he has resolved the click and clock spring. I guess it is under the 3/4 plate - but I would really like to see how that hs been done.

It looks great. I came across this brand before.

Love the simplicity.

Hard today what we think

base on a couple of pictures, but from what I see I like and worth a bit more research. Looks like it has lots of promise.

I live in Oregon too!

I don't know anything about this brand/watchmaker, but judging from these images alone...

I like the movement, but I think Dornblüth has better-looking movements in a similar style. The dial isn't my taste. It reminds me a little of Akrivia in terms of style, but the pieces of an Akrivia dial seem to visually work better together. This dial do...

👍 looking forward to it my friend

Give him a year or two to finish the orders he has already accepted

 By: cazalea : May 19th, 2020-13:35
He’s an agreeable guy in person, certainly. Now we should find out if he can manage those business and customer relations parts of being an independent watchmaker... I’ve seen many a talented watchmaker (consultant, etc) struggling with those aspects of w...

Yes when I inquired he mentioned up to 3 years for delivery

By: Mohannad (aka Riddler) : May 19th, 2020-14:05
But he says he gives that time frame but usually delivers earlier

I really like his work

 By: Cozmopak : May 19th, 2020-14:07
And he collaborates with Josh Shapiro to make the dials. I’m guilloche junkie and would certainly pursue that option

For sure! A great team, these two! [nt]

I like his work a lot

Go for it!!! He has a bright furure ahead and you will get in on close to the ground floor!

It's best time to get on board! He is a skilled young watchmaker and his finishing is nice and he is still improving in all areas! By the time he gets to your watch, you will have something excellent. The similarity to Akrivia is in the skill and otherwis...

I’m contemplating the idea and started conversation with him

Amazing work. Good value considering the amount of hand work/finishing

Superb work and a really nice man from my one phone call to him

but as you stated 42mm is a bit large for a dress watch. I would opt for a Charles Frodsham instead which is also 42mm but with much shorter lugs.

The case

 By: Cozmopak : May 20th, 2020-08:32
Is really the only thing about this watch that gives me a little bit of pause. I believe the case is his own design now? I know he used to work with off the shelf Fricker cases. Does anyone know the thickness of the current cases?

Hey Mohannad!

Here are some pictures to tempt you to the Frodsham! ...

Agree ch frodsham has amazing pieces too

I‘m a sucker for these grainy grey dials!

 By: mrds : June 4th, 2020-11:45
I also like the case design (at 42mm too big for me, but that‘s personal) and the beautiful backside. I don‘t like the applied sectors for the brand and the Oregon - the dial would be much cleaner if these were printed directly on the dial imho. Definitel...

I respectfully disagree

 By: Cozmopak : June 6th, 2020-12:37
I think the applied sectors give a lot of dimensionality to the dial.

Check out the attention to detail

on the teeth of this ratchet wheel and click system. I stole these images off Keaton's instagram account. That rounded hand polished execution is VERY difficult to accomplish to the degree that you see it here. Many watches that sell for many multiples of...

I agree his work is superb [nt]
