The 7+ years wait list is only very recent
Feb 19, 2022,15:48 PM
As earlier mentioned only 6 months back, the wait list for this watch was only around 2 years+ and these guys do not really market their watch much and it flies under the radar pretty much. Even then, word of mouth goes by by watch collectors of the insane level of finishing on these watches as practically the whole case is black polished including the ridges on the winding crown. Theirs is practically a two man show and there is only so much that they can produce in one year to keep up to that level of finishing. Hence even without much marketing and going pretty much word of mouth it was than already a 2 years plus waiting list..
Recently, earlier this year there was an interview on The Collector's Edition with Ed Sheeren on what other watches is he keeping track on his collection and Ed mentioned that he is really into indies currently with Roger Smiths and the other Kikuchi Nakagawa. Not saying that was what has been fueling the jump from 2 years+ to 7 years+ in a short span of couple of months....could be a coincidence.
Bottomline, this is a insanely finished watch - granted not for everyone taste. Some have pointed out the base Vaucher movement. Actually nothing wrong with the Vaucher movement - a very solid dependable one used by quite alot of other brands including Richard Mille, Parmagiani.
Yes 20K is a lot of money and 7 years is indeed a long time. But if they do indeed have folks willing to wait that time for something that they really want and they are still able to raise their prices this April 2022 with almost zero marketing - all the power to them.
