Parmigiani launches blue Hemispheres Retrograde

Jul 09, 2022,03:39 AM

Parmigiani has released a new steel version of their Toric Hemispheres Retrograde with a lovely guilloché blue dial.

Classic proportions  of the 42.8 mm case are retained with the case knurling and the guilloché dial still done by hand.

The very fair sized and reliable caliber PF317 (ø 35.6 mm) with the engraved 22K gold rotor nicely fits the case.

Very pleasing and affordable at CHF22000 for a watch that has two independent time zones (settable to the minute); independent day-night indicators for each time zone; retrograde pointer-date on a 270° arc. Superb legibility with lumed-javelin hands.

Notable change is the re-positioning of the oval Parmigiani plate on the dial;  which was earlier at 3’0 clock to the ‘rehaut’ area now.

A gem that continues to be in the shadows amidst the flipper hype surrounding some brands.

Cheers

Patek Caliber 240 which does duty in most of their perpetual calendars including the sky-moon tourbillon is a petite ø 27.50mm. Caliber 324 doing duty in Patek aannual calendars is ø 27mm Cheers

Wow, that's a beauty.
