Hands on review of Pascal Coyon's Chronomètre Calibre 19 (Chronometer Caliber 19)

 By: foversta : February 8th, 2021-13:07
Pascal Coyon cannot be blamed for spending too much time communicating to the detriment of his workbench activity. Because Pascal is rather discreet about his latest movement, the caliber 19. But does he really need to be visible? After all, the quality o...

Amazing post! I've been following Coyon for a few years now.

What he is doing is the distillation of fine watch making. Bravo!

+1

Superb review about a stunning watch!

Amazing work done by Pascal, very impressive. I hope that I shall have the opportunity to see it in the metal shortly...

Spectacular movement ...

for once, no pros and cons!

I hope to receive this watch sometime this year

And am bursting with excitement

I am in awe

 By: sham1 : February 8th, 2021-22:17
that with a movement the size of 36mm, the case is in 39.8mm. Unheard of but what a beautiful effect as nothing beats the sight of a movement filling up the case back.

Thank you so much for the review!

Thanks FX, a great post of a very lovely timepiece and maker...this is the reason we come to this site! Best E.

Im a huge fan for years! Sadly I missed his first series

The second one is a little above my personal price level.

These teeth are excellent indeed!

Quite an artisanal treasure; it is cool to think that the team perfectly knows each piece given their respective individuality and the time spent on each one!

Amazing post and stunning watches

I was lucky to see his first version at a paris GTG and hope to be able to see this new version too at some point.

Thank you for this

Like you, I am lucky enough to have the first version and, if these haven't already sold out, perhaps order this as well. Beautiful finish and such a beautiful piece this is. I am always surprised that M. Coyon hasn't garnered more fame and accolades. His...

Wonderful watch and super article!

I really like the classical look and feel of the watch. Simple done to perfection. Do you know who makes the cases and dials? They are amazing looking!

Cases are made by Parmigiani

 By: Cozmopak : February 9th, 2021-05:44
Dials are made by Metalem or Donze Cadrans (for enamel)

Ah nice to hear!

 By: Watchcph : February 9th, 2021-08:32
Wonderful. The enamel looks delicious! May I ask what configuration you choose?

Hall of Fame post, Fx! (As usual from you)

These watches exude beauty and sophistication and I feel the prices seem very fair. Very special that 3 members of the family can come together to create such masterpieces. Can we assume these 3 comprise the entire team or do they have another watchmaker ...

Absolutely amazing - both the writeup and the watch!

Thank you for sharing. Absolutely incredible watch in every way. Your writeup did it justice.

Stunning watch

But maybe it is 'too classic' in the sense that it does not have any 'je ne sais quoi'? I've thought this before about his watches... They are stunning! Yet dry...?

That’s a valid critique

 By: Cozmopak : February 15th, 2021-19:44
Pascal describes these watches as etudes, essentially technical exercises in extremely fine finishing. And much like Dufour, the artistic expression is embedded in the finishing. He isn’t breaking any new ground aesthetically, but from what I’ve seen of t...

See, this is why it’s awesome we all enjoy different things! I love the 4N gold dial with the Breguet numerals. Simple, but classy in a timeless way. So I ordered one, due in mid-2022. To my mind, it readily beats a Cronometre Souverain in terms of visual...

Cheers, always fun to await a fine timepiece--
