2027 cannot come soon enough!

 By: sham1 : June 15th, 2022-23:57
I am actually quite happy and content with my current small collection but last year I decided to finally place an order for the Charles Frodsham Double Impulse watch. When I say 'finally', that is because I had first dropped by at the world's only Frodsh...

Stunning watch!

 By: mdg : June 15th, 2022-23:58

Thank you for saying so!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-07:28
I could not agree more.

Sham I’m with you

 By: Mr.Gatsby : June 16th, 2022-01:45
I ordered one and THIS, is my exit watch. I can safely say enough is enough. This is a special watch and will go down in the history pages. Best Gatsby

+1

 By: jp884 : June 16th, 2022-06:22
I have an expected delivery date of 2027/2028 as well. Really looking forward to this one.

Well done!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-08:06
This will be a test of our patience and resolve but it will be well worth it.

I am glad I am in good company Gatsby!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-07:35
I think also the fact thtat this watch is likely to be the costliest watch in my collection would also warrant it to be my exit watch. There would be nothing left for anything else!

Likewise, the costliest watch I will ever buy

 By: Mr.Gatsby : June 16th, 2022-13:34
But as you say Stenning is a really cool fella. When one truly understands the provenance of their work and the historical significance of the watch I think departing with this much money would make sense lol. Also, in a time where aesthetics are overly s...

Well said!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-17:15
The watch for me is the epitome of discreet elegance!

 By: pw927 : June 16th, 2022-02:06
The hands are gorgeous. Appreciate the anticipation, it shall make it all the more memorable

My precise sentiments

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-07:36
Thank you for your feedback.

Beautiful

 By: mj23 : June 16th, 2022-02:16

Thank you!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-07:37
Do you have one on order too since you have all the best ones?!

It is a uniquely attractive watch, front and back.

 By: ArmisT : June 16th, 2022-02:42
The dial looks like enamel…is it? But I agree that the equal length hands and recessed seconds track make for a distinguished piece.

That is absolutely correct!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-07:55
Thank you for your feeback.

Good question!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-07:38
the dial looks like enamel but it is actually ceramic.

ZrO2 ceramic

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : June 16th, 2022-13:29

I learn something new!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-17:11
I am a totally non scientific person so any equation looks impressive

Great choice, Sham!!!

 By: jleno : June 16th, 2022-02:43
Looks great on your wrist as well! Do you know what metal you'll go with and if you'll add the royal warrants on the dial?

Thanks for your kind comments!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-07:49
I will go for the steel model as I prefer a lighter watch. Saying that I have asked if the watch can be made in titanium, something Frodsham is currently exploring. I have ordered my watch without the cyphers (prizes awarded to Frodsham in the 19th centur...

Five years should pass by soon! :-)

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-07:51
Waiting seems to be the norm these days Nico as our passion almost demands patience.

Nicely put!

 By: sham1 : June 20th, 2022-09:18
Meanwhilt one has to fight off the other attractions or distractions!

:)))

 By: amanico : June 20th, 2022-21:25

I do not think I..

 By: Ronald Held : June 17th, 2022-19:16
Could wait 5 years.

Not many will

 By: sham1 : June 17th, 2022-23:26
but there is small group of loonies like me who gladly wiill

I think so too!

 By: sham1 : June 19th, 2022-21:42
and thank goodness there are enough patient collectors or else these small independents will perish.

+1!! (nt)

 By: Ronald Held : June 20th, 2022-16:49
NT

Well I also have a Mr Jones

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-07:54
which is a delightful British brand at the site end of the scale. ...

Haha, I love this!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : June 16th, 2022-13:30

Nico took the words of my keyboard 😉

 By: Mike H : June 16th, 2022-05:28
Enjoy the wait my friend, there is nothing else you can do 🤷‍♂️ It’s a gorgeous watch you will get at the end…

Thanks Mike!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-07:57
One of the reasons I actually did not order the watch 4 years ago when I first tried it on was because the wait was only 9 months. I am a total loony and actually like the wait although I would have preffered it to be 3 to 4 years. But 5 is ok

😂 I know the feeling, also loony

 By: Fastwong : June 17th, 2022-12:00
For such a special and $ piece, it's nice to have some time to enjoy the process, I did the same with my last watch and passed on an available piece for a future allocation and really enjoyed that extra time. My next watch is scheduled for 2025 build and ...

For me and probably you too

 By: sham1 : June 17th, 2022-23:23
there is more pleasure than pain in the waiting!

Excellent choice in joining the list! This could very well be my exit watch

 By: fairfax : June 16th, 2022-05:31
The watch sits very well on your wrist. What wrist size are you? I’m slated for late 2023 and hope they can fulfill it on time. I’m set on the 22k YG case, but can’t decide on Roman or Arabic indices. Given it’ll be more dressy for me, I’m leaning on the ...

I have chosen the arabic numerals on mine.

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-08:00
with a steel case and no cyphers. Ok, with a dark blue strap which will contrast well aginst the blue numerals. I have no idea actually what my wrist size is. I will let you know when I get back to Malaysia next week.

Well, I think they are both excellent!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : June 17th, 2022-15:53
You know my choice: ...

Thanks!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : June 18th, 2022-03:33

I am pretty sure many have told you the same thing! :-)

 By: sham1 : June 18th, 2022-07:15
As long as you are ok with the added heft then your perfect watch is coming soon!

Simply stunning

 By: Ping.Timeout : June 16th, 2022-05:50

So true!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-08:04
Thank you for reading my write up.

An enjoyable read. 👍

 By: Ping.Timeout : June 16th, 2022-11:36

You are too kind, thank you!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-11:46
Will need to clear out one or two watches by 2027 to make way for the Frodsham.

That is one beauty for sure

 By: Ping.Timeout : June 16th, 2022-23:16

And most importantly

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-23:52
it fits my small wrist so this watch will be a tough one to better

Looks perfect on you

 By: Ping.Timeout : June 17th, 2022-05:45

You are too kind!

 By: sham1 : June 17th, 2022-05:49
I am not sure if it looks perfect but it certainly looks very good on me!

I am on my honeymoon

 By: sham1 : June 17th, 2022-23:21
so it should be good!

Many thanks!

 By: sham1 : June 18th, 2022-07:16
You have a pleasant weekend my friend.

You too ! Cheers

 By: Ping.Timeout : June 18th, 2022-09:10

I would if beautiful Paris

 By: sham1 : June 18th, 2022-14:22
was not 40c! :-(

Wow 40c is crazy !

 By: Ping.Timeout : June 18th, 2022-22:31

Thank you to the invention of air conditioning! :-)

 By: sham1 : June 19th, 2022-06:53
one of my favourite ever inventions!

For sure. 😀

Thank you for your kind comments.

Hi Sham

 By: RahulR : June 16th, 2022-07:38
The watch looks like it is made for your wrist I know you prefer smaller watches, but somehow with the shorter lugs the Frodsham team has made it very wearable and elegant. It is a very long wait even for the most patient of us, but it will certainly be w...

Thanks Rahul for saying so

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-08:10
The fact that you have ordered two is further assuarnce for me that I am in the right company and have chosen well! 42.2mm has seldom looked better on my wrist, and as you say, it is all about the lugs.

Thank you my friend!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-08:12
Well I am actually getting married in five hours time so that should keep me very busy for many years!

Wow, Masha'Allah!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : June 16th, 2022-13:32
Big congratulations! Your partner is a lucky cat!

Thank you my friend!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-21:25
It went well - nice and simple with a small wedding dinner for five (including my wife and me!)

Merci Mike!

Time flies

 By: Weems@8 : June 16th, 2022-07:52
Before it is 2027, it comes faster than you think. In my case i go faster than expected with collecting. My exit watch is almost there, but i wait till the AD contact me. But should it my exit watch? My last grail, grail watch 2. Yesterday i wrote about t...

Yes I know

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-08:13
Exit watches rarely exist but as I had mentioned earlier, having no fuinds left will help!

Good advice

 By: Weems@8 : June 16th, 2022-10:00
No funds is a good reason. But sell your car. Or a painting.

Ha! Ha!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-11:33
I love my car more than any watch, and paintings - well mine are worth peanuts!

2027!!!

 By: patrick_y : June 16th, 2022-08:19
The time will fly by Sham!

Thanks Patrick!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-09:24
It surely will

Superb watch …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : June 16th, 2022-08:33
I’m also waiting patiently, it’s all part of the journey ;-))

I always thought you had already collected yours!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-09:25
i am sure yours will come soon.

Same over here

 By: ambel : June 16th, 2022-09:39
Also ordered mine last year (around summer) after thinking and dreaming about this watch for too many years. and agree as well, have no problem with waiting time of 8 years.

Excellent but

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-09:55
I think if you ordered it a few months before me, yours should arrive in 2026 or early 2027 so only a 5 or 6 year wait

You are probably just after or before me :-)

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-11:34
So 2027 will be a big year for both of us!

2027 - here we come

 By: ambel : June 16th, 2022-12:59

May we both be in the best of health

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-17:08
to enjoy the Frodshams when they arrive.

Beautiful Timepiece

 By: enjoythemusic : June 16th, 2022-12:47
The wait will be worth it! But an 'exit watch'? C'mon, we love you and all yet if i was a betting man.... By 2027 Max B & Friends will surely produce something you desire.

Fortunately for me

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-16:58
Max B and friends is unlikely to produce a watch to win me over. For a start Max himself gave me the daily tolerance and the daily deviation was too great for such a finely finished timepiece. Secondly as much as I love the legacy machines, I have owned a...

Ah yes, nice!

 By: enjoythemusic : June 16th, 2022-20:08

But I see that you are a MB&F lover

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-21:24
so kudos to you for your support of the brand.

It is totally understandable that the wait time is not for everyone!

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-17:10
And that works out perfectly actually because if every enthusiast was happy to wait 6,8 or 10 years for a watch, the waiting lists would be hyper long!

It looks great on your wrist!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : June 16th, 2022-13:36
I think you'll love it! I'm moving to the exit as well. I think the key is that I can appreciate watches that I see and enjoy them while feeling I have enough in my own collection. I put an order in for a custom dial Pascal Coyon and I think that'll be it...

That yellow gold case

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-17:16
blends well with your skin tone! Coyon is superb, well done!

What a gorgeous watch!

 By: JoshTheCanadian : June 16th, 2022-16:40
I can sympathize with the wait. I am 6 months in waiting on a KV, with an expected delivery of "early 2025." The waiting is the hardest part.

So while waiting it is important to keep ourselves pre occupied with other pursuits

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-17:18
- like buying other watches or actually doing something entirely different! Congratulations on the Voutilainen - one of my favourite brands that I do not own!

Ha! I should probably stay away from buying other watches...

 By: JoshTheCanadian : June 16th, 2022-18:20
Although sometimes the siren's call is too difficult to resist. During this wait, I am trying to enjoy the collection I currently have. I, like you, am viewing this as the crown jewel of my collection - although perhaps not the exit watch.

My exact ethos

 By: sham1 : June 16th, 2022-21:22
I too need to behave when it comes to buying watches and maybe even reduce the collection by one or two watches. It is the survival of the fittest - and I am referring to the watches (not me obviously)!

All I can say is, looks pretty good on your wrist.

 By: Jay (Eire) : June 17th, 2022-23:08
And I’m surprised by that, as I recall you (like me) tend to prefer smaller diameter. But this look perfectly fine for you. So now, just wait. And wait ! 😂

Thanks Jay!

 By: sham1 : June 17th, 2022-23:27
As you know I too prefer smaller watches but this is the exception to the rule

Wow. Beautiful!

 By: A-Web : June 17th, 2022-23:58
Looks great and perfect on your wrist! Enjoy the wait

ah, thanks but

 By: sham1 : June 18th, 2022-07:13
I am not sure if i would be 'enjoying" the wait! I will however try not to think too much about it (if at all possible!!)
