I was recently looking at some Christophe Claret watches, and I'm surprised we don't see more of this brand on the forum. Any thoughts as to why? The X-Trem 1 is probably my favorite, I think it's easily one of the most creative and unique watches out the...

I have been following them for many years and when i was at SIHH I always visit them .

Amazing and special watches . Never pulled the trigger on one of there watches tbh . Maybe at that price point i am more attracted to other brands for now

There's definitely tough competition at this price point.

I think Claret's finishing might be a little lower than the others here (although it varies depending on the model), but the complication and creativity is where he wins out. Btw, check out this video of the Angelico . One thing that surprised me is just ...

tried one on 10 years ago. cool watches but so many options at that price point

seems like it's been the same models since then too with different colors.

i'm not arguing the greatness of his skills and complications.

when i saw them at the dealer, i tried on the maestoso and the kantharos so i guess it was more like 7 years ago. i just remembered there being a bigger catalog at the time.

True, it looks like the catalog was trimmed down recently with a lot of the Traditional watches being removed.

The Angelico I think was the latest addition which is still available, an incredible looking watch but the 46mm size is enormous.

Agreed!

Although, I love how they look but that is just me and I like things that look "odd" or "weird" I find them more beautiful. In fact, Christopher Claret was the first watch that got me into watchmaking. I was at a doctors place and they had robb report and...

It's funny, I distinctly remember a Christophe Claret being the first luxury watch I ever noticed as well!

Saw the poker watch in the back of a magazine in an airplane, and was wondering how a watch like that could cost $200k. I then looked it up on youtube later and was surprised to find that everything was done mechanically.

Lolz, great minds think a like!!

It is a fantastic watch and the spectacular visuals of the watch with the incrediable mechanics put me in aw and started my rabbit hole journey into watches! I honestly think it has completley defined my taste as my fav watches are usually indies and weir...

I did see it for like 150,000 online so at least some people are still selling it!

The designs are polarizing.

Brilliant, but not in a simple genius way. The creativity is stunning. His most accessible watches are his ladies pieces.

Agreed that most of Claret's watches can be polarizing.

Coincidentally, WatchBox posted a review of a Maestro yesterday. It's an incredibly interesting piece, and looks quite literally like a small city on the wrist. Apparently, it sold almost immediately after the review was posted.
