It really is a great watch...simple, traditional and beautifully finished.

This belongs to my wife. She loves it. I’ve noticed it gets a lot of wrist time.

Unfortunately, my wrist is too large to clasp the deployment.

So many extraordinary independent brands and watches to enjoy, many of them posted on WPS. For now, I settled for this. ...

Very nice [nt]

I'm glad you think so too. [nt]

It's actually very very beautiful

I’ve been eyeing this particular model as well Great choice 👌🏻

A great looking watch! [nt]

From aBlogtoWatch review...

By: India Whiskey Charlie : October 20th, 2020-13:47
The Tonda GT is outfitted with the PF044 movement, a new automatic caliber made of 274 components and 33 jewels. The movement operates at 28,800 vph and has a 45-hour power reserve. There are Geneva stripes throughout the movement, but the 22k-gold rotor ...

Indeed! As usual aBlogToWatch was on it nice and early, and their coverage helped me whittle down my choice.

I was looking for a new 'steel sports' watch and worked my way through the various available options. PF struck the balance I was looking for. Thanks for sharing the info.

Not at all. The usual suspects below, with my completely biased (and in some cases superficial) assessments alongside them

 By: Rosneathian : October 20th, 2020-14:29
Audemars Piquet Royal Oak. I like the basic models, a lot, but didn't pursue owing to availability issues. I wanted my search to be an enjoyable experience. Patek Philippe Nautilus. Never considered. Not only is it beyond my budget, but after I heard a ch...

WOW! Thank you so much for this...

LOL @ 'the Flintstones watch' 😉

Flinstone watch Lol, looks like a blue Teletubby to me.

Everybody does sport these days, what about Czapek Antarctique

Fantastic

It makes me happy to see a watch which look the way a creative designer made. A modern todays watch, which look like a real watch without going over the top. Well done Parmigiani.

Explain the sub dial at 6

 By: Weems@8 : October 20th, 2020-14:51
Interesting what information is on the small hand sub dial. Seconds or power reserve? Something else?

Retrograde running seconds [nt]

By: India Whiskey Charlie : October 20th, 2020-14:58

Thanks for explaining

 By: Weems@8 : October 20th, 2020-15:01
good message.

Thank you, sir. [nt]

Congratulations, a great looking Parmigiani!

I'd be curious if you have any thoughts on how it compares to others in the steel sports watch category.

Hi, I'm no expert but I did share my humble impressions in a response to India Whiskey Charlie above.

 By: Rosneathian : October 20th, 2020-17:18
That explains my process of selecting this watch. I wouldn't read it as anything other than a personal impression. Hope it helps.

Every picture I’ve seen of this watch, yours included, leave me thinking “that’s a good looking watch”.

 By: Jay (Eire) : October 20th, 2020-18:12
I don’t think it needs to be any more depth to it than that, as this is what one should think when looking at ones wrist. The other piece I’d like to see is the Streamliner, and I note in your response above this one was “for another life”. Is that based ...

True. We over-analyse when sometimes just silently beholding something we like is enough.

 By: Rosneathian : October 20th, 2020-18:26
The H. Moser Streamliner Flyback Chronograph is limited to 100 pieces, and each of them costs $40,000. Clearly there are people on this site for whom this is a trifling sum but it’s way, way beyond my means and I have no issue with saying that.

There's something relaxing about that dial

 By: Arronax : October 20th, 2020-18:41
I can't quite explain it, maybe the lack of lume or the restrained color palette but great choice and definitely not something you see very often!

Hi. Thanks much. Guess what? There is lume on the hour indices and the tips of the hour and minute hands. It's black and this helps give the dial composure.

 By: Rosneathian : October 20th, 2020-18:53
It's worth adding that black lume is not particularly strong, and fades quite quickly. This is hardly a deal-breaker in the overall context of what the watch tries to achieve. Parmigiani Fleurier will not be sending these pieces to any of its 150 official...

An excellent alternative to the other well known steel sportswatches

 By: MiguelFlash : October 20th, 2020-18:49
I find this one more interesting!

I ended up choosing this one over a number of others because of its classical looks.

 By: Rosneathian : October 20th, 2020-18:59
It doesn't try to break industry moulds with angular dials or avante-garde materials; it just focuses on being a good-looking, traditional watch with excellence in the detail.

Wow

 By: WatchEater : October 20th, 2020-20:04
This is my current dream sports watch. The dial is really beautiful IMO. Congrats! Did you look @ the black/orange dial Chrono too?

Hi, Yes i did actually. But my collection contains a fair few chronos, and I wanted something simpler that just said "Watch" when I looked at it.

 By: Rosneathian : October 20th, 2020-20:16
I'm quite happy to say that this is precisely what I think when I wear and look at it. As for the "sports" tag, I think this is basically an all-purpose watch. It's both conservative and pretty; handsome and curvy. PF did a decent job.

Definitely

 By: WatchEater : October 20th, 2020-20:32
It's stunning! Dibs if you sell it

It really is a great watch...simple, traditional and beautifully finished.

Thanks.

Her wrist is large enough to wear my watches with bracelets but my wrist is a little too big to wear hers. 😢

Excellent choice!

I‘ve always been a fan of Parmigiani. I admire them for their independent spirit and flawless execution. You‘ve picked a very nice specimen here, and I bet the backside doesn’t disappoint! Best, Daniel

That's very exciting. I think you'll be happy with the experience, and with the watch.

PF has a strong working relationship with its authorised sales points, and it shows in the way they interact with customers. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit yesterday. It would be interesting to have your reactions if and when you are able to secure your ow...

Beautuful watch. enjoy it

Interesting that they are not shipping without an order. That should stop the price discounting that has hurt their image. I have owned the tonda 1950, the pershing and the tonda dual time. They are great watches with their own look. Pf makes a great watc...

I admire your immersion in the brand. You have three fine specimens.

I've seen 3-4 individual GTs appear on the secondary market since its launch. Two of these were pulled almost immediately. The other two are still up today. Meanwhile, the sales point where I bought the watch above did have several of PF's other watches o...

Thanks, I just ordered my wife
