Ah, what the heck--which would you rather?

Would you rather own a Sarpaneva--any model. OR an Ochs and Junior--any model. I find both to be very strong in the identity department, and almost equally intriguing, probably giving the edge to Sarpaneva because he is leaving the classical and creating ...

An excellent idea to have posted pictures of the Creators rather than the watches!

After all, when we buy an Independant watch, I guess that it is also because of " The Man " behind the watch! In this case, I have a lot of admiration for Mr Oechslin's creations under his name and Ulysse Nardin's, and I love Mr Sapraneva's sense of the d...

I cannot resist Stepan s style and design....just too romantic and cool at the same time.. as I said I cannot give some photo evidence but...i will follow soon...... Stepan all the way. Mo

Different looks, but equally lovely from my viewpoint.

I own this "Oechslin" designed annual cal....even though the watchdial and case were Christian Gafner's creation. This belongs to a friend of mine and is superb. Different strokes from different folks.... Cheers, Tim ...

Sarpaneva for me

 By: sans_cesse : March 30th, 2013-16:01
I like the nitty-gritty, down to earth concept behind the Ochs watches, and admire Oechslin's movement designs. But for me they are really too minimalistic and "Streng" with a look that reminds one of those Braun quartz watch designs (which are perfectly ...

Sarpaneva without any doubt.

Honestly, I don't like the "Naive" style of the O and J watches. I didn't enter the concept. On the other hand, I love the atmosphere of Stepan's watches. Fx

Both Great, Own a Sarpaneva

 By: Whirling : March 30th, 2013-18:23
I think both the Sarpaneva and the O&J have a lot to be said for them. I own a Sarpaneva Harvest Moon and love it. The quality reaches a level of perfection that surprised me, and I'm quite a stickler. The case is both unique and artistic, without bei...

Sarpaneva for me

 By: Theodore Diehl : March 31st, 2013-03:10
Ochs & Junior certainly interesting movement designs; Sarpaneva more interesting everything... even down to the shape of things like lugs. Ciao, Theodore

I like them both in general ...

and have been very close to spend money on them, several times. At the moment I have a clear preference for one specific watch ... but no free budget for it :-( Hope that will change some time soon :-) Oliver

i hope it is a Indie or AHCI, and not a Patek ;)-

When will the public know your decision? Best Horo

Aaah, the lost son is back.

 By: small-luxury-world : April 15th, 2013-05:07
Already thought we lost you here :-) Will keep you updated in time, but whenever I try to get one new watch you probably got a dozen ... It´s impossible to beat you, at least for me :-) Cheers, Oliver

Make that the Prodigal Son :)

I await your final decision....interestingly, I might be getting to see some Sarpanevas over the course of the week. Best, Horo

Sarpaneva without hesitation

The Ochs und Junior concept is interesting, but a bit too "quirky" for me - too many subtle inconsistencies, I suppose...like the minimalist, simplistic design offered in an infinite array of bright colors; a brand which promotes independence and individu...

Leaning strongly toward Sarpaneva. Thanks.

I prefer the same

O & J + Gerber (2) + MIH = 4 compared to no Finn watches (yet) Cazalea

BOTH

Sorry for not giving a desired answer... I wanted both (and now I have all three) Again sorry... can't help myself... I'm a sucker when it comes to cool timepieces :) and you probably know this one by now... ...

I read many of your articles and drooled over photos. Sarpaneva all the way, for me, currently, the Kaamos is my fave. In pics it reminds me of an industrial city in layers... something darkly ultra modern... it isn't so much a 'blackout' watch as a conce...

Thanks Mostel, A pleasure to hear you enjoyed the photos and articles. I still remember my taste for watches, moving from the "obvious" to the opposite. Always realize that for the same amount you can buy a Daytona. But in the end it comes down to your ta...
