Normally though when ACM has pre-sold, they make an announcement after the sale and the watch is then listed on the website as sold. This happened in 2019 when they placed the Daniels Blue tourbillon with a client for £1million.
This was a very speedy sale, but one of these last came up 9 years ago and since, as other have pointed out, 'shares' in Dufour have risen exponentially. Not just the Simplicity last year, but the Duality in 2017. Currently the trajectory seems solidly in the ascendant.
It is also possible that they advised some potential buyers that it was about to be listed and this would have assured the seller as well that the watch would sell at a certain price point. Not quite pre-sold, but pre-advertised privately.
