I’ve had this one for about a year now.

May 02, 2021,21:08 PM

I work in an office setting, and I don’t wear it there, but I often change in to it when I get home. I have two children ages 4 and 7, so this watch has seen some action from playing with them smile.
I have two recent pictures I took with more of a closeup of the bezel, but I apologize as the depth of field makes the bezel more fuzzy in some areas. I’d be happy to take some others if you like. I also have an Aquanaut 5167, and I’d say the bezel here is holding up much better given how often I wear it.

De Bethune DB28GS Landed This Week!

 By: Fastwong : April 24th, 2021-02:24
The De Bethune arrived literally as I was leaving for my first business trip since covid started. I grabbed it on way out the door, took the stickers off in the back of a taxi, and got my first picture while waiting for my flight. The watch is so much mor...

Thank you!

That is really incredible!!

 By: Spencer Karrington : April 25th, 2021-11:59
Really shows what type of brand it is!!! I mean, when you compare what happened to you with all of the bad experiences i have heard with patek phillipe owners, it is like, what!!! Again awesome and enjoy your watch in fantastic health, wealth, and happine...

Once, back in the day, that happened to us

My wife was miffed that Apple expected us to put our credit card and SS# into its online application for the very first iPhone (which I wanted). She is not much of a computer person but sat down in a huff and wrote to @ apple dot com. About 90 minutes la...

Lol, that's awesome! I think all ceos should spend an hour a week just reading cs requests

Most CEOs I've met don't even go to their own stores let alone actually interact with their customers.

Agree!!!

Knowing what the customer wants is the best key to success!!

Now that is customer service ;p

A space ship for the wrist.

Looks cool.

Gorgeous

 By: m2 : April 24th, 2021-19:30
Congrats! What would you compare these to in terms of fit and finish? I have yet to try one in-person but definitely on my list.

De Bethune does their own thing so tough for me to compare from a fit and finish perspective

 By: Fastwong : April 25th, 2021-15:20
There's no engine turning, no cotes de geneve, not a bunch of interior and exterior angles, and most of the movement is actually hidden under the main bridge, etc. so I hate to try to make comparisons that x is better than y when I don't think there's a c...

All fine here , hope you are doing great too 🙏🏻

There are plenty of stunning and beautiful choices when it comes to DeBethune 😉. Really looking forward to see your choice

A real beast!

 By: mrds : April 25th, 2021-19:57
I absolutely share your feelings that these DBs can’t be compared to anything else in the world of horlogy. They are marvels in their own right, mystical machines that also tell time, works of art that few people can understand but that hijack the senses ...

Your picture is great don’t worry even if...

 By: Mike H : April 25th, 2021-23:08
...the actual watch is even better of course 😉 Huge congrats on a great piece, it looks stunning 👍👌👌 Enjoy it and wear it in the best of your health ! Mike

Lol, thank you!

Congratulations

Great looking watch. I have become a big fan of De Bethune. One of the best independent makers. I only wish they would start making some slightly smaller sized watches and then I would probably become a true collector of the brand. Enjoy

I haven’t had a chance to try one on yet

 By: NML77 : April 27th, 2021-15:02
I will definitely try to check it out. Thanks

What a wonderful piece!

 By: fairfax : April 27th, 2021-11:07
After seeing one in the flesh, I placed an order and can’t wait for it’s arrival. It’s an amazing piece with over 100m WR with a dynamic large seconds hand and governor not seen in most models. One worry is how scratch prone is the titanium bezel for you?...

Congrats! So excited for you and to see another on WPS!

 By: Fastwong : April 27th, 2021-16:39
I'm very clumsy and my watches find every door knob in a room, in fact there's one in my house that I've been thinking about removing since I hit it constantly, so I fully expect the bezel to get scratched up. At the moment, it's too early to tell, only r...

2 months as well

 By: fairfax : April 28th, 2021-02:13
Same for me, in that it’s around 2 months for delivery and I’m based in HK. And it’s great to know that it can deal with scratches well. Between the triple-parachute shock absorbers and the bezel, I really hope this can be my day to day casual watch. Btw,...

Nice! That's not bad at all, can't wait to see pics!

 By: Fastwong : April 28th, 2021-14:30
Same here, I'm hoping between the materials, wr, and the shock protection this makes for a legit great sports watch for everyday wear. I've already taken it hiking, fishing, camping, and even a couple days of firearms testing and evaluation with some mili...

You just validated my reason to buy this watch!

 By: fairfax : April 29th, 2021-11:31
All the activities you mentioned + having young kids are some of the many reasons why the DB28GS appeals to me so much. I can’t believe you have shot with it! I’m in IPSC and PRS but never had worn a mechanical watch with it. I wonder what are the measure...

Cool, I didn't know there was big competitions shooting scene in HK!

 By: Fastwong : April 29th, 2021-15:25
I had over 50k rounds of major pf with my Rolex without issue so I assume the DB with the benefits of titanium, silicon, shock protection, and manual winding will be fine. Last week wasn't a torture test by any means but a select fire 9" sbr in 300 blk do...

Unfortunately not in HK, but in Canada

 By: fairfax : April 29th, 2021-16:00
I spend part of my time in Canada but with COVID, I haven’t been back and missing the range. You really should contact De Bethune and I wonder if they can use your watch as a way to prove its robustness! For PRS, I shoot 6.5CM in an AR10 and I’m scared of...

Ah, that makes sense. If they want to sponsor me for testing and evaluation I'm in though I'm more clumsy than ruggedly active :)

 By: Fastwong : May 1st, 2021-18:17
Heh, the guys were shooting a 6.5 in the shortest "tower" ever right behind and above me at one of the ranges. Thankfully suppressed which was surprisingly not bad at all. Is your Leman titanium as well? I had a 500 Fathoms in titanium and that did get a ...

Too bad suppressors are illegal in Canada, they really make shooting much more enjoyable

 By: fairfax : May 2nd, 2021-04:20
Yes, I have the Leman GMT alarm in Ti. I remembering when purchasing it, I asked what grade, but they never disclosed the details. It picked up scratches like crazy. Definitely not grade 5. I can why so many people avoid the material. But my experience wi...

Congratulations!

A truly stunning and technically inspiring piece! My first series GS says hello. ...

It has held up great so far.

 By: BMR : April 28th, 2021-20:15
I’ve been really impressed with how it has stood up to wear and tear - very little is visible at all. I have a 4 and 7 year old, so it’s seen some action, too . Thank you so much for your kind compliments. I do think yours will hold up even better with th...

Thanks so much, and it doesn’t sound silly at all.

 By: BMR : May 2nd, 2021-20:57
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the durability. I certainly don’t baby this one. It’s won me over in a way that many of my other watches just can’t, and I wear it a lot.

How long have you been wearing it?

 By: fairfax : May 2nd, 2021-04:23
Following the other thread, I’d love to learn how resistant are De Bethune titanium watches against scratches. Would you have any close ups of the bezel?

I’ve had this one for about a year now.

Everyday wear for the last couple weeks has been just light scuffs in the polished portion of the bezel

 By: Fastwong : May 2nd, 2021-22:35
All the other surfaces look new. Hard to get a good pic, you need a hard light to see the marring in the bezel. Under normal lighting you can't really see scratches this fine and they certainly can't be felt. Here's two pics while sitting at my desk worki...

We are (almost) speechless too, except CONGRATS!
