I can't remember the issue it had, but the fix was simple and it was a lovely piece.

My first foray into independants

I've got a pretty mainstream collection and have long avoided independants due to servicibility and longevity concerns. Well, I found something that put those fears to rest by using a GP movement and also presents a unique and enticing visual package (and...

Very elegant! [nt]

Great choice!

I've long appreciated Daniel Roth, though never took the plunge to own one. I dig the clear signature case and there's something so right about the hands he always uses (what do you even call that hand shape?).

I had something similar in 1995!

Same salmon dial in steel and it was amazingly accurate. I am a great fan of Daniel Roth and I often think that he is a forgotten genius!

I love your DR , amazing dial color too

Have always loved the DR case shape...but I also love the cushion style case of the PP 5940.

These older Daniel Roth models are amazing looking.

Enjoy yours; love that dial. GEO

An ex-independent you mean. Daniel Roth hasn’t been independent since Bvlgari’s acquisition of it in 2000.

Still a lovely watch nonetheless, and as expressed above, they're a much overlooked brand, and it’s not like LVMH has been proactive with it since the purchase. Seems like the brand is effectively in a stage of limbo, and I’d love to know what they plan o...

Pin the balloon. MZHammer thought his watch is an independent. A dream goes in clouds up. The truth is sometimes hard and direct, but better than thinking owning an independent and it is not. Carefully noting wil soften the hard news. It is ok. On the oth...

Yup

Me too

I suppose that depends on your definition

Considering this watch is from the mid 90s, before BVLGARI purchased the name, I think there is an argument to be made that his watches pre-buyout still count but, in either case, I'm happy with it.

Not really, otherwise Lange & Sohne would be referenced in the same manner...

prior to their purchase by Richemont, and similarly Minerva, before their complete acquisition and subsumed into Montblanc’s as their HH movement division. An independent is independent for as long as they aren’t majority staked or fully acquired by anoth...

Beautiful!

I'm sure you've seen the discussion on Monochrome of this particular watch. It's dated 25/03/20 and is an enjoyable read.
