Great question.

For me, the decision was made for me by the person who worked with Stefan to design the ten piece edition, so my choice was simply do I want to purchase this piece or not. Obviously my choice was yes, and I have to say a big part of that decision included the appeal of the fully engraved backside and how it completed the theme on this particular edition.

This was the Grüner Wald Edition in which the green dial was to represent of the green forests in the area surrounding Stefan’s workshop. The engraved backside continues this theme with traditional leafy engravings. As a master engraver, I also loved the idea of giving him a full canvass to express his signature craft. So to me, the piece even more fully represents the ethos of a watch produced by Stefan, and it ties the philosophical idea for this specific piece together more completely.

In honor of ArmisE’s recent breathtaking acquisition I’d like to start a kudoke 2 roll-call. May the wrist shots of all of the versions come out, in celebration of Stefan’s brilliance. Have a good day all Hussam ...

Excellent and gorgeous K2

Excellent shot in that first picture!

You know, at a certain angle it looks a bit like tiger eye stone…which isn’t a bad idea for another Kudoke iteration 🤔. Actually, a number of gemstones would be very cool…but I don’t know how hard it would be for Stefan to do. Nevertheless, since Dr. H ha...

Wow. This version looks even more impressive than the press photos.

The MOP makes it stand out from all the other versions. I have to read about the different MOP. Where the caseback shot? Don’t hold back, Dr. A 😜 As for your comment about it looking like tiger eye, I’m sure that Stefan can do anything that he puts his mi...

I knew someone was going to ask about the movement side…

 By: ArmisT : August 19th, 2021-12:27
and I tried, but that side is even harder for me to capture. I’m curious what you need for the macro shots you showed. Still, since you asked, here is my effort with the movement. ...

🤯🤯.

That upgraded movement finishing is worth every cent. And nice to see that they have moved to straps with quick release. My macro shooting skills need a lot of work, but @cluelesscollector had shared with me his iPhone-compatible macro lens. Happy to shar...

Ah, so there’s a special lens you can buy for the iphone??

 By: ArmisT : August 19th, 2021-16:58
I just thought everyone probably has the newer versions of iphone. I will look that up, thanks.

😉👍🙏

So many beautiful variants in this thread!

It’s great to see such diversity for the K2 as they are all beautiful and have their own special appeal. Let me add my Grüner Wald to the mix. ...

As you wish 😁

But some may call us biased 😂

We need someone to post their Nocturne version…

 By: ArmisT : August 19th, 2021-22:49
I’m pretty sure a member of this forum posted theirs some time back. AND we need to see the unmistakable white dial K2…

Your endorsement, sir, suffices

Words of appreciation and a question

 By: Rosneathian : August 20th, 2021-22:05
Thanks to LankySudanese for starting this thread. All of the variants posted above show how well the watch works as a basic template. I'll be joining this company by January with the new version in rose gold with the black dial. Now, to my question. While...

Here’s my reasoning for foregoing the fully-engraved plate:

 By: Lankysudanese : August 21st, 2021-07:08
I basically fully-believe in having different finishing techniques and textures in a movement. Engraved balance cock and brand/name plate. Frosted finish fo the base plays. Circular graining and solarization on the two wheels, and beveling of the edges. T...

That is very helpful indeed, and expands on my own line of thinking. Thank you.

 By: Rosneathian : August 21st, 2021-17:34
If I am to add one point, it is that I prefer the frosted base plates because it reminds me of my pocket watch - an old Patek of Brazilian vintage. And as previously mentioned, the technique has a specifically German character too. That counts for somethi...

Ah. Even more reasons.

 By: Lankysudanese : August 21st, 2021-18:21
Even though we have our reasons, Stefan wouldn’t have entertained all these options if he felt that any one of them interferes with the totality of the watch’s design, which got him his GPHG

100%.

Very well put, and a coherent line of thinking too.

Needless to say you're a lucky soul to have one of that ten. It's beautiful and much coveted.

Thank you very much for your kind words.

I am very grateful indeed.
