disappointment
Nov 04, 2020,09:29 AM
So, I've always been absolutely enamored with the LM Perpetual movement - hats off to Stephen McDonnell for such a magnificent creation. I've also always wanted to buy an MB&F piece. I was really excited when the LMP Evo was announced as it's something I'd actually wear, so I immediately registered my interest with MB&F.
Unfortunately, I'm shocked to have to report that MB&F is refusing to sell me this piece via my preferred AD, apparently insistent that I buy the piece directly from them in Switzerland. I'm USA-based and their position on this makes absolutely no sense to me - is this really worth moneygrubbing over? And why even have ADs at this point? Anyway, this interaction has completely turned me off on the piece. Incredibly disappointed that I won't get to share it with you all.

I like the sleeker case and fact they used zirconium! The blue version is stunning. Any idea on the sticker price? Laurent

Nice to see...it bugs me that some high end Indy sport watches have no water resistance...a step in the right direction.
Really cool!!

It is a super fun and amazing direction for the brand what a way to get into the sports watch section with such a cool watch that is done so well!! One question for me is how do they manage of this with a balance that seems to be so 'unstable', if someone...

The easy answer is that it's for people who won't touch Rolex/PP - or gold, for that matter.

The sapphire crystal is fused to the zirconium case and there is no bezel!! A very unique piece of engineering and design.

I have to make a call to choose a simple Royal Oak Tourbillon or this incredible piece. I just have no experience with independents or MBF but I really dig the versatility of this watch being swimmable, which is one of my pet peeves with many of these wat...

Definitely not my preference. I want to use a domestic point of contact I have an established business relationship with, avoid all the shipping/customs/import drama (this is why I no longer do overseas auctions, b/c it's such a #*$!show), and their CHF a...

Difference is way way more than VAT right now due to FX, plus again, all the other reasons. Even if it were around equal, I'd still prefer working through my AD.
