Thank you Sham, this makes me hope they "downsize" sometime in the future.
As I said, in this price range no one would go for compromises and 2mm make quite a difference.

I wonder if it will be a 40mm version? I am happy with my 42 mm but there have been a lot of posts here requesting the smaller version, so maybe its coming now? ...

may be a different dial color too...just to ensure it doesn't hurt current owners !

btw UJ was ok to do 40mm Alfred even now on special request - i see they were quite flexible with customization 'within' their codes. Best, mahesh.,

Thanks for sharing this info, I did not know that a 40mm Alfred was a possibility. I saw a Platinum 42 mm worn by the UJ's CEO though )

Also interesting thought re a new dial color. I think this is a good guess, because they would probably want to keep the Alfred line at an entry-level price-wise, so unlikely new complications will be added.

A 38mm Alfred

I totally agree - the design of UJ is to die for but in that price range, one would expect absolute perfection, and 40mm case size is not more than a compromise only. Between 37 and 38.5mm would be perfect IMHO.

You must have a small wrist like me! :-)

37mm or 38mm and I would be orderring one immediately. I believe the movement can fit in a 38mm case.

Actually I wrote to UJ some time ago if they ever think about putting the movement in a smaller case, but I never received an answer. I presume they stick to 40mm and above :-( And indeed you are right, I have a smaller wrist, thus my little aversion with...

before the new management had taken over, UJ made some delightful 35mm to 37mm case watches with Frederic Piguet movements - the Ref 2,3,5 etc. The P4 movement at 32mm does not allow for any case smaller than 38mm so I am hoping a smaller than 40mm case w...

and I am living in hope myself! I have not seen any brand attempt a case smaller than 5.6mm the size of the movement and few would even a consider a case any smaller than 6mm the size of the movement. I wish more brands would appreciate that a movement lo...
