I can tell you're a stickler for those pesky date windows

 By: Rosneathian : December 2nd, 2021-19:31
With this watch I thought long and hard about that. In fact, looking back at my records, I first began to consider it about two years ago. The case form is exceptionally assertive and for imposes order on what's happening on the dial. It's clear it wasn't...

Hah. Yes. I'm not going to disagree.

 By: Rosneathian : December 3rd, 2021-00:59
One thing though. I try to think of each new watch as part of the collection. What does it add? How is it different. Being relatively conservative means that there is some kind of overall character to the family, and part of that is that each watch has a ...

The date is useful and adds further interest via asymmetry.

A very nice watch.

The appreciation is mutual!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : December 3rd, 2021-12:54

Definitely!

 By: amanico : December 4th, 2021-08:46

Beautiful, classy, rare and hugely under-aqppreciated

Mine says hi!!! Congratulations. Regards Antony

Did we interact a week or three ago? I recall commenting on a fellow collector who had a beautifully choice PF collection

 By: Rosneathian : December 2nd, 2021-19:54
Thanks for sharing the photo. I tend to agree about the beauty and value of some of these watches. Long may the market continue ignoring them.

At My Age I

 By: ant : December 2nd, 2021-20:48
can hardly recall three days, let alone three weeks! Consequently my life is one long voyage of new discoveries! Kind regards Antony

And the Pic!!

...

They are wonderful,

 By: ant : December 4th, 2021-17:53
I am glad that you have one. Now that our quiet little backwater of a hobby is being swamped by spivs and speculators there are few 'undiscovered' gems left for us mere enthusiasts to be able to purchase, long live the Fleurier secret! Kind regards Antony...

We share similar sentiments. I do prefer the quiet backwaters as well, for the most part. They allow for peaceful meandering and noise-free enjoyment

 By: Rosneathian : December 4th, 2021-18:43
Not sure how long this will last though. As you say, spivs (lol) and speculators will arrive at some point. I hold the likes of ACM responsible for this. One well-written, long form article in English is all it will take for the sound of hooves to rumble ...

Goodness

This is stunning. It goes on my wishlist today. Wear it well. 🍻

This one looks stunning. Any wrist shot picture?

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : December 2nd, 2021-20:58

Thank you, Sir. In good time. I have three watches incoming so am trying to pace their arrival to savour each one and to avoid overwhelming the senses

 By: Rosneathian : December 2nd, 2021-21:12
I'm prepared to wait a month or a little longer if need be. Will return with live pics when it arrives (though not necessarily on my wrist!)

Wow! Enjoy!

A GEM!!!

Also like their green dials…ENVIOUS!

Thank you muchly

 By: Rosneathian : December 2nd, 2021-21:14
Is there a green dial Ionica? I haven't come across it so do please advise. Speaking of green, I'm enjoying imagining this watch being made by elves for elves. It's that slightly weird, other worldly quality of some of PF's work that fascinates me. Best r...

It was this one…

Incredible case...

...like a work of architecture : )

Indeed, that was Michel Parmigiani's actual inspiration

 By: Rosneathian : December 3rd, 2021-01:34
The man himself considered a career in architecture before plumping for watchmaking (I won't go on as I'm sure you're more than aware). The Ionica is named after ancient Greek column styles of the same name. Here he is speaking with Watch Time in Septembe...

Amazing coincidence! I’ve got one on the way too (silver dial version🙌)

There can't be too many folk interested in this watch, and for two to be at it at the same time, and on the same forum at the same time too. Well I never

 By: Rosneathian : December 3rd, 2021-04:16
Good luck with taking receipt and looking forward to seeing yours when it arrives.

Haha. True

 By: Bounce781 : December 3rd, 2021-04:49
Future classic 👏🙌

Congratulations, a wonderful choice!

 By: jleno : December 3rd, 2021-05:01
The dial, case, and movement are all very unique and spectacular!

That's lovely. It looks great in that gold.

 By: 1neilfrancis : December 3rd, 2021-11:33
Many congratulations. Is it just me or does it feel like PF are starting to get noticed and appreciated just a little more these days? Still low key, but I think the signs are there.

Thanks for the complement, all of which belongs to Michel Parmigiani of course. This, I believe, was his first wrist watch after establishing the manufacture

 By: Rosneathian : December 3rd, 2021-13:22
As for the profile of the brand today, it's hard to say. It's still a pretty niche name and for a long time its work has been an acquired taste. Perhaps the launch of the new Tonda line last year (and updated just recently) has helped move the needle of a...

Correction....

A member has contacted me in PM to challenge one point in made in the original post. I said that this watch was a bargain at the time of its release. Apparently I am mistaken. I hope he will find a moment to share here what he shared with me in private. I...

A happy coincidence, and indication that members are motivated to seek out good watches hiding in broad daylight

 By: Rosneathian : December 5th, 2021-17:13
I made one or two mistakes in my original post. First, by saying that this watch was part of PF's early "mass market" strategy. It wasn't. Second, and by extension, it wasn't a "bargain" on first release. It can, however, still be found and bought for wha...

A superb watch...

 By: darmatgre-1 : December 5th, 2021-18:30
one of my favorites from MP. Would love to see one of these live one day. Congratulations. Darren

Superb post of a superb watch, my friend!

 By: mrds : December 13th, 2021-12:50
Just read your post right now, seems I missed it. Congratulations on this sublime and distinctive addition! Seeing the response from our fellow WPSsers, we should pull an Ionica roll-call... Best, Daniel

Thank you for saying so.

 By: Rosneathian : December 13th, 2021-20:14
I want to reiterate that there were one or two errors in the OP. For instance, this watch was *not* part of the initial mass run from PF, as were such watches as the 'Basica.' Related, it wasn't quite as inexpensive on release as I made out. On the contra...

Hey OP

Do you know what production volumes were for this blue model
