Any opinions on the Laurent Ferrier stainless steel below?

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : May 19th, 2022-17:21
Nice watch but at $49K+ tax it is pricey, and it’s not limited. The sales guy at Cellini made it sound like this was the hottest thing on the market but they will make 125 per year, sounds like there will be plenty around and no reason to rush. Picture of...

Go for that, instead...

1000%

It’s a great brand but these are much nicer IMO. Saw it at W&W and while better than in pictures it think these two are some of the nicest designs from LF and a much nicer than the bracelet piece.

Thank you so much,Jim.

Likewise my friend. It’s a real pleasure to have you onboard. Hope we meet one day.

I agree

Thanks Amanico :-)…Jim

We'll have to agree to agree, here.

agree!

LF is not a sport style brand.

Nor is Lange... ;)

 By: amanico : May 20th, 2022-05:15

Yeah, I know it isn't limited, just responding to your comment about it being hot.

 By: Fastwong : May 19th, 2022-21:27
I don't know if it is the hottest thing but just saying that the guys at Cellini probably aren't blowing smoke, I think the first year is already sold and people ordering now are looking at 2023 delivery. I have no skin in the game, the watch doesn't appe...

For me personally, I don't care

for watches with integrated bracelets. So I would pass on this one, but that is just me.

Not seen the piece in the flesh

but loving it in pics. 2 year + wait list at the moment. Will post pics when mine arrives next year.

Hi Jim, in my humble opinion 50 K for a Stainless Steel WATCH

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : May 19th, 2022-19:04
Is way too much when I can buy the Lang & Hyene or Parnigiani stainless steel for 17,000…Jim

The case is titanium. It is an amazing watch if you like bracelets and are not bothered by it being super light.

 By: als1678 : May 19th, 2022-18:53
I think the life time production over a few years would be around 100 pieces, it is not an yearly number. I am not sure you can get one, but if still possible it will be a long wait.

Thanks for the response Jim.

 By: als1678 : May 19th, 2022-19:32
I heard about approximately 100 total production from two ADs which are close to LF. For a company which makes 150 watches a year, making 125 of one model per year is simply not feasible even if they expanded production slightly (doubtful given labor shor...

The only part I like is...

yes the movement is spectacular IWC,

I was offered one of the first ones out but declined, it’s not a bargain and so many on the Independant market that are so good at 30% of the price…Jim

Well done, Jim...👍

I find the Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto a fantastic watch

 By: Geo : May 19th, 2022-19:07
At 'Watches & Wonders 'I had the chance to try it on and play with the watch and I find it very attractive. The titanium case and bracelet feel so comfortable on the wrist and I loved the little weight. It is unfair to compare the Laurent Ferrier Spor...

Thanks Geo it is a beautiful watch,

However I believe the SS market is oversaturated and one had to choose wisely…Jim

But the watch is made in titanium, not in steel

 By: Geo : May 20th, 2022-06:55
and that makes quite a difference.

Exactly!

There was a post here on the WPS about this specific watch, and in my opinion I was very unimpressed with the watch design they literally copied PP with a bit of twist which is almost like the bell and ross. If your not going for the AP or PP I would go f...

Great points Motty…Jim

I am not sure about the date window here

Some like it and some do not…

Personally I never like a date window…Jim

Tries too hard…….

 By: guycord : May 20th, 2022-08:17
Nice watch but tries too hard to join the integrated bracelet crowd. LF make lovely watches on non-metal straps/bracelets and should continue to grow organically as they are.

Exactly guycord, this is a quality watch no doubt

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : May 21st, 2022-16:53
And some will go for it but when I was offered one I passed, I have the LF dual time cloisonné enamel dial and love it, very special and rare. I need another integrated bracelet like this like I need another hole on my head … Jim

It is a little baffling Watchonthewrist

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : May 21st, 2022-16:54
Very well done watches but not as popular in general…Jim

I like LF but this one does nothing for me.

I see a strong #metoointegratedsteelsportswatch" attempt but I am afraid they are too late to the party.

Perfect point…Jim

There were several threads regarding this GS Auto Jim. I, for one, love it and will be getting one as soon as they start delivering them...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : May 22nd, 2022-14:05
I was with a group of collectors who were in Geneva for W&W where we saw all the novelties. This LF Auto needs to be seen in the metal and tried on to due it justice. It is really an UBER cool piece and one I will be more than happy to add to the collecti...

Hi Jason, you’re certainly ahead of me having tried on the watch and seen it in the metal. I have got plenty of these sport SS watches

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : May 22nd, 2022-16:34
I have all four of the ones you mentioned above along with the open worked double balancier AP. So just for comparison sake let’s compare to the AP, in my opinion the Laurette Ferrier does not even come close to the AP, its retail price was in the mid-40,...

No idea if your autocorrect did it or not but this is Justin, not Jason 😜🤣🤦‍♂️...

And like you I have many APs, Pateks, Rolex, etc...with bracelets and in the SS sports watch category. If you count vintage and modern, I might have nearly a hundred watches that fit into this category Jim 🤣😜 We cannot compare one to another as they are n...

I had a choice between the Royal Oak and the LF, having seen both in the flesh....

 By: blepperly : June 22nd, 2022-10:23
LF won out in a not-so-closely-contested race. I love them both. But LF, for me, is on another level: its uniqueness, finishing (though the AP bracelet does perhaps have a slight edge), and overall aesthetic. It's my personal opinion, of course, and I am ...

Great point about the newness of the LF

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : June 22nd, 2022-10:59
Great point about the newness of the LF compared to a 50-year-old design. Congratulations on a beautiful watch where it in good health… Jim

Cheers, Jim!

I‘m a huge LF fan, but go

 By: mrds : June 24th, 2022-00:09
for a Galet or an Origin. For sports watches, there‘s many great options but LF doesn’t speak to me here.
