Visitors to Brazil should err on the side of austerity!
I like the colourful band!
I just finished working on a World Cup travel health and safety infographic for Sitata (Disclosure: Sitata is a travel health and safety startup that I'm involved with). While Brazil is not nearly as dangerous as inferred in some of the reporting, I would recommend that visitors stay alert and keep a low profile, especially outside of the FIFA match zones.
I might even recommend not wearing a watch, because (often) our idea of a nondescript and economical timepiece might still attract some unwanted attention.

I think if I were going I would probably only wear one of these when in the hotel or when in hospitality and not when walking the streets. Why make yourself a target... Cheers Andrew
