Up Close with Hublot's King Power Diego Maradona

Apr 30, 2018,18:00 PM

During Hublot's "Match of Friendship" at Basel this year, legendary soccer players from around the world gathered to spar before hungry watch aficionados.

As impressive as the gathering of talent was, waiting in the wings were displays of various Hublot timepieces. Most notably present were the King Power Diego Maradona Limited Editions.

Build on the iconic 48mm King Power Chassis, these models were introduced in 2012 but remain a staple in the Hublot lineup of Limited Editions.

The Limited Edition Series consisted of 500 pieces in Ceramic and 200 in "King Gold."

Gold and black version looks very cool.

So is this a new LE or are these previously released. I noticed Maradona was not wear a watch. I guess he must have been on the court.

Good question. They were on display, but I believe they're from the earlier release.

I just thought they were great looking watches and they fit the soccer theme for the evening. I am also a huge fan of the King Powers ( I have three ).
