The Steel Ceramic Evolution has a brushed finish on the ceramic bezel that I like, and the steel looks more like white gold than steel (amazing finish!). The ceramic is very durable and takes most of the blows, but you will get a few scratches on the casing.  Still, its kind of hard to miss the bezel and hit the casing). Keep in mind that the steel ceramic has a lot of sharp edges. The bezel is sharp, the casing has sharp edges, and the clasp is sharp.  I can't tell you how many times I cut my wife with the watch!

The Black Magic Evolution is VERY durable.  The ceramic has a beautiful satin finish and I have not managed to scratch it (I've banged it into almost everything)! The edges are rounded out on the casing, but the clasp is still sharp and can cut someone!

Can anyone comment on the durability of a Black Magic all ceramic Big Bang compared to a Steel Ceramic variation. My understanding is that the all ceramic version is incredibly durable, but is the steel version a scratch magnet by comparison?

.. ceramic is stronger for scratch, while easier to break, if you try really hard with the intention :-) Are you thinking of getting either one? If yo do, share your love with us! Best, Ken
