Yes, that's the best course indeed. The re-edition watches are always the second best, next to a near mint vintage original! Regards [nt]

But as I said earlier elsewhere, it's somewhat little difficult to maintain a good, valuable vintage watch if you lack access to a very intelligent and good watchmaker.
These modern remakes are very easy with brand warranty and support. Just my 2 cents....

Good to explore the back catalog - some nice pieces there

But a marketer's nightmare - I can spot 3 or 4 different logos on 5 watches!

Wow, 1930s/1940s style sector dial chronograph with stepped Calatrava style case!

Where did you discover these and when will they be released? Nothing mentioned by Alexander Linz of Watch Advisor yet... and he is often faster to come out with news than his colleagues.

May be this time WatchProSite member is faster than them.

They will be uploaded soon. I've posted only that I liked. Do you want me to post all? Regards

the 1st one is very very appealing

Longines really hit it right with the heritage series. So many lovely reissue pieces lately. But with this new release, they make me reconsider the sector dial the Fab Suisse or the Sector dial hehe... Cheers

Do you know if the first one is auto or manual wind?

Hi, sir it's an automatic ETA movement specially made for Longines cal 888 with 65 hours power reserve.

 By: Pun : May 7th, 2020-19:21
Hope you are good and safe in this period. I don't read any news from your region, that must be good.. My best regards Pun

Thanks sir!

Appreciate the info . . . and yes, I am safe as I hope you are too, please take care!!!

Yes

 By: drhr : May 7th, 2020-23:46
I was really hoping for a hand wind too . .

I don't remember Longines making manual wind watches lately. Not even in their Heritage Range.

 By: Pun : May 8th, 2020-00:44
Another drawback to me is that their watches are very thick for their overall ambience.

But as drhr said earlier, if it had a manual winding movement, I'd have taken it as early as it reached Market.

 By: Pun : May 9th, 2020-00:23
The automatic L888 movement is a dampener for me. Still dial has hit many right chords for me too.

They could have installed the eta 2801-2 indeed!

 By: Makilla : May 9th, 2020-13:11
Any idea why they didnโ€™t? Maybe due to conveniency especially if the watch will be worn daily. But yeah I perfectly agree with you there. Nevertheless a beautiful piece to get.

They have installed a Longines proprietary movement L888, made exclusively for the brand by ETA only.

 By: Pun : May 9th, 2020-20:05
This movement is more robust, accurate and can be manually wound as well. I've one with this movement and it's damn accurate and have good power reserve too. ...

Oh baby, what a beauty ๐Ÿ˜…

 By: Makilla : May 9th, 2020-13:09
Iโ€™d love to get a vintage but a modern one might save the wait and hassle ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yes, if you get them in good condition there is nothing like that. At times I think that the golden age of watchmaking was perhaps between 1940 to 1970.

 By: Pun : May 9th, 2020-19:49
The watches they made then are gems, in one way or the other, but they are really worth owning. Regards

+1.
