Nomos is of course another fine brand .
Although quite a few of their watches are way above the typical price points that are served by the entry-level Swatch brands of which Hamilton is a very prominent part.
From experience I know that many people (outside our typical watch community),looking for a mechanical watch do not want to spend more than 1-2 k, which again is already more than what a large majority of people on this planet can afford.
With the Swatch brands (like Certina,Tissot,Mido,Hamilton,Longines) you get probably the overall best quality for your money....and the assurance that these watches will always be serviceable.

Yes,Longines certainly has many fine watches with a superb quality/price ratio.
In general,whenever being asked by friends and family,I always recommend to have a first look at the "entry-level" Swatch brands when looking for good quality at fair price points.

Just love the Hamilton and would already have this Nomos Ahoi in my collection if it would better fit my wrist.
Yes, the lugs are one odd aspect of them. Something I've looked at and scratched my head over more than once! I just looked and realized Certina doesn't have ADs
in the US. Kinda weird and unfortunate. Yet Wallmart has them! (???)

It also shows how successful Longines was in recreating the spirit of this watch with the re-edition.
Longines has really become the master of vintage re-editions.
This is certainly one of their best efforts.
