Yep, I guess you can’t tell from a picture, but here’s for instance some of the clothing that I posted earlier..

For example you can be sure the fabric of the polos is first rate and even the caps feel great (though I don’t have many other caps to compare with!)...The golf bag I remember is of a very good cotton. Even the plastic sunglasses that I wear *daily* here in the US are indestructible, or the simple bracelets (I think they are in fact made of Aquanaut rubber). Same then for all things for the house or the leather accessories (those are quite common), or for women (my girlfriend of course has scarves, also common gifts, and those ARE totally Hermes quality)👍

PS: I was almost lying before because I found some Rolex letterhead as I browsed the past pictures (but it was given me by an AD not by Rolex, so I stand by my statement of feeling ignored by all other brands!😂)

Who do some so-called high-end brands give you cheap merchandise?

 By: K-Lo : August 29th, 2020-08:50
This is what AP gave me after my 15202 service. Look at how the pouch stitching stood the test of time, or did it? Cheap cup holder from BlancPain. High-end brands should also give you high-end merchandise in my opinion. Giving this cheap stuff “cheapens”...

Have any to show? Would love to see what they got,

I haven’t “arrived” as a Patek buyer yet, 😬😬😬

I received a wallet for the ‘trouble’ of servicing my Aquanaut

 By: CastorKrieg : August 29th, 2020-09:18
Didn’t have a chance to try it but my current wallet is coming up on 8 years so I think I will switch soon. The leather looks to be of good quality.

No real gift but quite nice too...

I like that!! [nt]

The publications are probably what I’m most proud of, and quality is also top (even the paper, not only the content!)...In fact it took me YEARS to complete the rare handcraft collection!

 By: FabR : August 29th, 2020-10:06
It also took long, and I’m not done yet, to recover all BUT ONE (#2 of Vol. 1) of the past magazines (thanks to Patek itself AND five or six different ADs that I deal with...it wasn’t easy!). Unfortunately most of these things are in Italy😇 ...

And I do love math (research) a lot😱😂It’s that most math books can be bought online by anyone in a second...

 By: FabR : August 29th, 2020-10:39
...While my Patek library took me several years to make😎...Or maybe I’m just finding excuses and I really love Patek more!😂😉

Nope I’m pretty sure I don’t, it looks like the GM Chime official book from the Patek library?👍

 By: FabR : August 31st, 2020-12:58
I have most things in Italy, but I believe I have these two books for the anniversary, especially the small one contains the special editions...Hope you’ll soon receive the missing rare handcraft volumes!🥂 ...

Here we go

In full agreement, excellence and a high-end experience should be 360 degrees...these things do not look good.

 By: FabR : August 29th, 2020-09:07
However I should also say that I’ve received all kinds of gifts and accessories from Patek in recent years, and nothing has been short of impeccable. I can’t speak for the other brands though as they never send me anything!😂😇

😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣 have any to show?

I can’t be sure about AP or BP, but leather objects are normally *extremely common* as gifts, so it’s even more odd...

 By: FabR : August 29th, 2020-10:16
Unless you got unlucky and was given the only poor quality example, or else that’s the quality of tens of thousands of AP leather pouches that have been handed out to customers? That’s the most concerning aspect😉You could seriously ask AP or even your AD....

😭😭🤣🤣😭😭🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️, I may need to fly

You down to do a BVLGARI visit, hehehe, well leave the ladies at home.

Same here. I asked the lady to search it and she said shes call me as soon as she got the pin

 By: Reuven Malter : August 29th, 2020-09:48
She never called again. This would have been the best thing in my collection. I dont need f** Patek gloves lol 🤣

No problem to share thoughts

They must give high quality merchandise. Why they give cheap stuff? Maybe a money ishoe. The watch sold, so the work is done.

Only the watch

 By: Weems@8 : August 29th, 2020-09:28
The other products are not important. Straps and watch parts are important.

Box and papers

 By: Weems@8 : August 29th, 2020-10:17
Bought a watch, uhhh mister here is the box. I ???. Ok.

100% agree - protect the Brand. Anything you put the Brand's name/logo on has to be worthy of it.

This is where MontBlanc could stand to do some excellent cross-sell (not being an owner I can’t comment if they do) - but a high quality wallet with a purchase or similar could really drive some interest in the rest of the line. My concern with MontBlanc,...

I have gotten some good quality swag.

I’d rather they keep this crap, and the boxes etc, and just make the watch cheaper.

 By: Jay (Eire) : August 29th, 2020-11:15
Or, give me something useful like an overpriced OEM strap. Anytime I go to an event I say no thank you to the goodie bag, unless there is food in there! Which is basically never.

This is a good approach, only take...

the goodie bag, if there are real “goodies” inside.

Yes, but I think some gifts are a relevant part of the overall "luxury" experience, and to be honest, this happens in a more critical way that many people may think...

We are speaking of accessories whose value is way less than that of our watches, but they do play a role in our perception of a brand -- and therefore, in a sense, in our purchases. Push this example to an extreme, and I'm frankly happy to be offered a co...

I know, it bothers me for a brand to give these shoddy items

And then expect us to hold them in the highest esteem, I would imagine it should do with marketing and branding, maybe they need a talk.

I always ask for a watch pouch/case when purchasing from an AD/boutique.

Often the salesperson is surprised with the question and/or they have none in stock (but usually do source it and send it (sometimes weeks) later). I’d love if, like for the ALS Odysseus, it became the norm that watches from high end brands come with a po...

Normally these products are ordered in bulk from a third world country. As I know a lot of leather products come from Thailand, India China.

just because

 By: jim_94104 : August 29th, 2020-12:49
they sell you something at a very high price does not automatically qualify them a high end company. it takes an entire company's culture and history and pride associated with their name that truly distinguish them as a maison.

Agree [nt]
