So many reviewers of the Lange Datograph (great watch) in platinum just say how good it is, how wonderful the finishing is, etc. But few mention how heavy it is. How tight you have to strap it on your wrist in order for it to feel secure. The case back has a protruding area in the back so that heavy watch is spread over a smaller area. It always leaves an impression on your wrist. The Zeitwerk Striking Time. Such a cool watch. But the strap is a little chafing on the wrist because it's got a huge watch spread over a small width strap. They should've made a wider strap (like a Panerai is a huge watch but a very wide strap as well spreading the weight evenly).
I like to get a little technical, but I try to hold back and wait for someone to ask for specifics in the comments/discussion. For instance, the Vacheron Constantin Tourbillon pictured above is a little unusual. It's a bigger balance wheel, and slower beat watch. Advantage, bigger balance wheel is less prone to shocks. Disadvantage, the slower beat means if the balance wheel does experience a shock, the slower beat will necessitate a longer recovery time, meaning a longer interruption in accuracy.
That Vacheron Constantin Tourbillon is immensely comfortable. The right weight balance. The right thickness and a large 41MM diameter. But it doesn't look big at all. And a super cool peripheral winding rotor that doesn't block the view of the transparent tourbillon!
