Like DB or RM (I love a lot the rotor of the RM 007 even if it's a lady's watch), the ones made by MB&F for their HM are truly futuristic. Like the timepieces of these brands, their rotors are divisive

What is the nicest rotor ever made for you?

 By: Alkiro1 : August 14th, 2017-13:45
Hi all, Even if I\'m more a manual instead of automatic guy 😉, last Matto1 post reminded me of how much I love the design of the PSM rotors. For me, they\'re the nicest available today and, why not, ever made. What is your favourite rotor? You can opt for...

Easy

Also the first gold rotor I believe.

You're absolutely true dear Brandon

 By: Alkiro1 : August 15th, 2017-00:08
The first gold rotor and the first with a such decoration level. A true pioneer and still a reference today. Best wishes Alkiro

Just three that I have on my phone...

I'm more on the hand wind side, but I like those. 1) Aqua Terra Spectre 2) Globemaster Pt 3) JLC Extreme Lab 2 Cheers, Nilo ...

Without any doubt

Like the Chopard LUC and 7 Laurent Ferrier micros...... Best, Horo ...

OR..... Dramatic

 By: Hororgasm : August 15th, 2017-03:38
Like these MB&Fs Best, Horo ...

Without a second of hesitation imo the most beautiful, best automatic movement, with the best finishing actually on the market is...

 By: Mike H : August 15th, 2017-03:39
...the Laurent Ferrier Galet with micro rotor with natural escapement. I know I am biaised but I am convinced about it... If you have a doubt look at it in the metal and you will be convinced . Mike ...

we are biased ;)-

 By: Hororgasm : August 15th, 2017-03:42
best, horo

Glad to have you in the LF fan club !

 By: Mike H : August 15th, 2017-04:57
btw check the other pic I have added (as reply to Alkiro) you might like it... hehehe

That picture is giving a good idea of the level of finishing of this movement... hard to beat !!!

 By: Mike H : August 15th, 2017-04:55
This one is not my watch but my picture (taken in Basel) ...

Hard to not fall in love with that kind of shot and don't say bravo. But you don't need to preach to the choir 😉

 By: Alkiro1 : August 15th, 2017-05:19
I know that I will own a Galet Micro rotor one day 😁 Best wishes Alkiro

Does it have to be a rotor....

 By: andrewluff : August 15th, 2017-07:03
But... like you I do think that the PSM has a lot of class. Cheers Andrew ...

Wow! The Monaco V4 Tourbillon. May be not the nicest "rotor" but without any doubt a very well thought out one. That makes me think to Corum with its linear winding system.

 By: Alkiro1 : August 15th, 2017-07:25
Many thanks for your input Andrew (I absolutely didn't think about this one). Best wishes Alkiro ...

I think there was also a Harry Winston with the vertical wind...

 By: andrewluff : August 15th, 2017-10:53
The only thing with the TagH is that it is quite noisy against the carbon case when it goes from side to side, but a cool system. Cheers Andrew

The HW Tourbillon Glissière that I didn't know. Your remark about the V4 is interesting because I didn't think previously about this possible problem of noise or bad feeling on the wrist

 By: Alkiro1 : August 15th, 2017-11:04
That's why it's so interesting to discuss with true passionates and owners because they can give information that you won't be able to collect on review websites and brands of course. Thanks Andrew. Best wishes Alkiro ...

That was the one I was thinking of... cool looking piece!

 By: andrewluff : August 15th, 2017-11:56
Its not uncomfortable or off-putting when you wear it... just sometimes when playing tennis or golf, you hear it click back and forth. Cheers Andrew

Very true... if they're really waterproof

As you know I like Vianney Halter watches😉

 By: HGL : August 18th, 2017-04:42
(Photo credit to SJX, I hope its ok I use this one as example) I'm a bit late but here's one more.. Really like this "masse mystérieuse"! But anyway, quite a nice collection of rotors in this thread!! Best, HGL ...

Very nice my friend. I didn't think to this one which is perfect in this thread (no problem for the shot as long as you make reference to the owner's shot 😉)

 By: Alkiro1 : August 18th, 2017-05:15
Peripheral rotor are absolutely perfect for both automatic watch and movement lovers. I would say that they offer the best of these both worlds 😊 Best wishes Alkiro

They do indeed😃!

 By: cazalea : August 20th, 2017-17:03
I like these two, among the ones I own: ...

The GO one offers a very nice symmetry that I love a lot. Regarding the Vianney Halter one, it's just sublime and very well thought out for me

 By: Alkiro1 : August 21st, 2017-00:53
I don't know if it's the first peripheral rotor in history or not? Best wishes Alkiro

Never too late for enjoying 😉

 By: Alkiro1 : August 21st, 2017-00:55
The 3/4 GO rotor is one I had forgotten. It's so well thought out to avoid to hide the double swan neck. Thank you for adding this one 👍 Best wishes Alkiro

Not the nicest

 By: halkcb : August 20th, 2017-20:56
but one standard and one interesting rotor Best henry ...

Many thanks Henry for your input.

 By: Alkiro1 : August 21st, 2017-00:58
The second GS rotor is cool. It makes me think to a rim 😉 Best wishes Alkiro

Have been on hols with family, so missed this post...

 By: Tim Jackson : August 21st, 2017-11:57
Cheers, Tim ...

Each time I see this PSM rotor, I'm... 🤤😁

 By: Alkiro1 : August 21st, 2017-12:20
Regarding the VH one, I would like to know if it was the first peripheral rotor in history or not? 🤔 Best wishes Alkiro

Good question, I don't believe so, although I do think it is the first mystery rotor...

 By: Tim Jackson : August 21st, 2017-12:32
I wouldn't technically call it a peripheral rotor, as the sapphire crystal section that attaches the outer weight to the center section, means that it still winds from the center of the highly modified Lemania caliber. Perhaps someone with more knowledge ...

Shh Tim! Never reveal the trick of a watchmaking magician 😁

 By: Alkiro1 : August 21st, 2017-12:59
Yes, probably someone here could give us the answer. Best wishes Alkiro
