speculative articles like this gets rid of the joy of watch collecting. just look at the "R" forum and how the passion of collecting is gone over there.

Just to be clear....

.....when you say the "R Forum", you do not mean the one on this forum. Best, Joe

different one

Most of the brands listed can be had for huge discounts.

☹️, the primary factor should be enjoyment, if it retains value that should be a bonus

that record breaking 2499 Patek Asprey was never bought for investment The fact that it is now very valuable was a consequence of the rise in watch collecting It wil be sad if a watch is only judged by its investment potential Just my thoughts

Sadly some timepieces are already being judged purely by their investment potential

This is especially systemic for Rolex, PP and AP.

It’s always a great shame when the financial implications ..

start to dominate the pleasure of any collecting passion. Personally I think that the article is very poorly written and inaccurate. If you want to invest your money you will be better off doing it in something else.

I like how a low range Patek costs $5k

And ostensibly the Patek in photo costs $10k. If they are selling for those prices, sign me up for 3.

Sounding like a commodity, rather than a luxury product.

When the word “investment” is used. For all the marketing BS we’re exposed to by the brands, that is the polar opposite of what “luxury” is. My 2 cents...

Ha! Good one Mike 😉 [nt]
