Up close and personal with Minhoon Yoo prototype watch!

I was recently given the opportunity to look after Korean watchmaker Minhoon Yoo's prototype watch and boy it did not disappoint!

At 7.3mm thick it was very comfortable on the wrist. The dial was very legible and great to look at in all light sources. The finishing was another level, I have owned many different watches from many different brands over the years was very impressed with how he has finished this piece.

Here are a couple of pictures.

And the shapes of the 12 markers… are they numerals in Korean?

They're definitely strange and irregular numerals!

It's got certain "bite marks" and each bite mark resembles a certain number. The position of the bitemark also represents a value probably. Thus, it's got its own language.

No

This is just his interpretation of indices, this piece is called carved piece. As everything is done by hand each dial will be slightly different. The guilloche on the dial is also carved by hand and was inspired by "white noise".

Agreed,

I believe he has intentions to clean it up some more for his production pieces. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result.
