Time keeping in the Edo period
I read about this a while ago (and then completely forgot about it). The change of seasons had got me thinking about it again. There are probably plenty of people here that know about this system but it was news to me. I thought it's a refreshing way to comprehend time...instead of a continuous, evenly metered flow this system suggests a constantly changing flow of time. The following is a brief description from the Seiko Museum.
I wonder if anybody has a clock or watch that displays time like this.
