I love winding a watch. My Patek 3970 is the only manual- wind I own , and I really treasure it. There is a connection I have with that timepiece largely because it needs me for it to function. It’s a small, beautiful, gentle machine.

is a daily ritual for me and is the first thing I do when I wake up (literally! ) The smoothness of a winding mechanism is bordering on an orgasmic experience for me!

And varies from watch to watch, interesting 🤔

I enjoy so much winding my watches, both manual movements like the Panerais or even automatic ones which require 20/30 turns of crown to start them. I love to listen the sound of teeth and rachet, viewing the wheel begin moving if case back allows and fee...  

It’s a very analog experience in a digital world. I think that’s all part of the magic.
