the dial,does have some texture to it. Of all of my vintage pieces this one is definitely my favorite, and I have have several nice ones. This one and another run as well as any of my modern pieces.
My wife’s grandfather
came to the US from Poland through Ellis Island and ended up in Pittsburgh working in the steel mills. He had an Elgin watch that we got after he died 25-30 years ago. I’m not Catholic and back then the wife and family would go to mass every Christmas Eve...

My mom gave it to my dad the first Christrmas they were married,
1949, she bought it used from the dentist she worked for, couldn't have been but probably a year or two old when she got it. 76+ years old and runs like a new watch, accuracy is amazing,
