I wrote a lot on that matter, when I reviewed the Montblanc 1858 Tachymeter which I rated as one of the finest chronograph movement from the current production, ALL BRANDS included.
Look at this:
OR the Jaeger Lecoultre Duomètre à Chronographe, which is as original as it is fine:
The 1858 Tachymeter, but all the fine chronos from Montblanc, such as the Cal 13.21 or the 16.31, suffer from a certain lack of legitimacy if you read people's opinions...
The Jaeger Lecoultre has a legitimacy, but doesn't receive the attention and the consideration it deserves.
Why? Snobisme? Show off? Social status?
It's been a long time I prefer to focus on watches than on the name on the dial.
