I´m very fond of Doxa watches and as a matter of fact I own four and a fifth is coming soon (the new Doxa Army, steel case). They are reliable, accurate and tough. What else? Ah, yes, they have a classic vintage look to boot.
As you know, my first choice for my favorite Tool Watch would be a Rolex Submariner, specially the 14060M which is a modern version of the classic but still with the more charming (for my taste) looks of the aluminum insert era. Of course I like and own examples of the new generation ceramic bezels but I really like the looks and size of the previous era.
Now with the marketing policy of Rolex since a few years ago I have explored other brands and models. I found the Omega diving watches very interesting both in aesthetics, movements and reliability. Lately I became very fond of the Nekton model which is just one of the many variants of the SM 300M model. The grey color of dial, the red seconds hand and the "engraved" bezel make for a killer watch combination.
Of course I´m very fond of the Speedmaster but for a real tool watch my choice is always a diving watch.
Another brand I love so much is Panerai. Of the many models this brand offers, my choice as a tool watch Pam would be one of the several versions of the Submersible in the 42 mm steel case variant. I know purist Paneristi would prefer the 44 or 47 versions, but I find the 42 mm the ideal size specially if it will be worn in an Scuba dive when I prefer a more compact watch than the big Submersibles.
Last but not least, I´m also fond of Seiko watches and among the many options the brand offers my choice would be a Turtle or the new version of the classic Capt. Williard watch.
Keep enjoying your vacations dear Captain! Best, Abel
