Sitting down to finish David Landes Revolution In time.

Decided to have one of Peter Speake-Marin's early pieces on my wrist while I did.

Not to over step, but believe this book should be required reading for any collector. This story of the social, political, economic and certainly technical history of time measurement is as fascinating as it is hard to read at times - what would you expect from a Harvard professor?

I've heard many who know the book, not so many who've finished it but I'm determined.

Sound off if you've finished it.

It’s a great book! There is also a mention of George Daniels in there towards the end. I believe Prof Landes owned the first Daniels pocket watch at some point (after Cecil Clutton sold it back to GD). Bounce PS love your PSM

Will have a look at that book at one point (I don’t read a lot of books tbh)

....particularly the chapter on Harrison and the marine chronometers. Borrowed it from the public library years ago. Will be part of my library, if I ever settle down.

100% agreed; one of the most important books related to this hobby.

As for your suggestion it should be required reading, I agree with that too!
