I have been describing the patina as buttery yellow, but I like your turn of phrase, “burnt vanilla”, very much.
Whatever it is, it’s a brilliant contrast with the matt dark grey dial and the white lettering. I did think about getting a gilt-dialled 5513, but despite its greater rarity (and price) I like the contrast with the white lettering and am very happy with my decision.
Too much gold can’t be good for anyone!
