Possible "Gifts" to forum members: A hypothetical post
Sep 21, 2021,05:34 AM
The goal of this post is to see if you can get the mindset and ideals distilled into a piece for another forum member. I hope you enjoy it.
I find that watches make very meaningful gifts for loved ones, business associates etc. In this post, I'd like to explore a hypothetical situation.
If funds were unlimited, and you could gift pieces to a few forum members, what would you choose and why?
I have a few ideas in mind for a few forum members, the list goes on:
- Amanico - a JLC reverso Gran Sport. Why? I find he enjoys history and innovation at the same time. The Gran Sport is a very truthful lineage of the Reverso, which is supposed to be a sports watch. With it's ventilated caseback, and strap. it would be the reverso to wear for a game of Polo.
- DouglasM - This is a little hard. He picks obscure pieces, with no pressure to yield to peer pressure. Seems to like aquatic themed pieces. An Omega Aquaterra Ultralight comes to my mind
- Weems@8 - maybe a Girard Perregaux Laureato Quartz 40th Anniversary. This immediately comes to mind
- Holdenchamp - A fully restored JLC Dirty Dozen with archive papers
- Subexplorer - The most James Bond piece of the Omega range, perhaps the 50th Anniversary seamaster
- DrNo - The Grand Seiko Thong Sia Jade limited edition 150 pieces. He said he likes it.
- Yacomino - A Franck Muller Giga Tourbillon. I sense he has a restraint flamboyance, this will be perfect.
- Lankysudanese AKA Hussam - An AP ROO "The Beast"
- Sergio - The Blancpain X-Fathoms. I am sure he will use it
- Cazalea - This one is hard. He has nearly everything. He likes novel materials, so perhaps, an AP RO Lionel Messi Edition with a tantalum bezel
- MichaelC - a GP Flyback Ferrari edition in mint condition
- FabR - A little art, and flamboyance. A De Bethune Starry Varius Tourbillion Deadbeat Seconds
- Forvesta - A Gerald Genta original Gefica fully restored with archive papers
- Glau - Gerald Genta Mickey Mouse 1996 HK Handover edition
- Aperna - A Rolex Cellini Prince Rectangular "doctor's watch"
- Echi - A Grand Seiko Mt Iwate dial manual-wound
- Captain Scarlet - a HYT with lumed fluid
- Marcus Hanke - Something one can jump off a helicopter with, tough, practical. A Carl Bucherer Scubatec Patravi
- Terbaboom - a Girard Perregaux Aston Martin edition tourbillon
What do you think? Please feel free to add on more forum members and their hypothetical perfect gift watch.
