The 3878J was discontinued more than 20 years ago but a VIP customer had commissioned one two years ago which Patek had agreed to make. This order was cancelled after production of the watch and it found its way to the Patek Salon in London where I first ...

I’m perpetually never able to get into any list of Patek 🤐

For the more special/rare handcraft pieces, I also enjoy the process of looking for them, waiting for the right moment, etc., and then (sometimes) being lucky enough to get selected... If not, I'll survive. I find this an important part of the fun in watc... 

But for regular watches, it's not fun at all. But it's maybe me because I'm not looking for any kind of exclusivity but beauty and quality. Anyways, I'll start looking at this rare handcrafts, I'm starting to me intrigued 😉

It might be a long term project, but I'll start investigating 😉

I have to confess I never have begged for a watch. If a watch I want to buy can’t be delivered within a reasonable time and at a reasonable price I decline with thanks and turn my love to other brands and watches. There are so many of them. ☺️ Best, Thoma...

That’s only one I have ‘on order’, and to be frank I should probably call them up and take my name off the list. Have really fallen out of love with Rolex in recent years. In terms of broader watch buying plans, I hope to buy a Big Pilot 5004 this year. I... 

You either buy a pre-owned 5002 or a new 5010. The 5004 has a missing 9 and that might bother you in the long run.

If a 5009 came up at a good price, I’d be willing to go for it if I could source a 5004 strap, but the 5002 would be out of the question, not a a fan
