Ok it's official. I hate nato straps no matter the quality!

To buy a nice fabric or cordura strap from IWC is expensive but what makes matters worse is the buckle! The buckle on this watch is 20mm and every other one tapers down to 18. Essentially i have to buy a buckle and new strap!!! Anyone have good aftermarket recommendations?

You have to buy a new buckle and strap?

Sorry, I need clarification on what you are requesting. What size for each? 20mm buckle and a strap width of 20mm? Or 18mm buckle and a strap width of 20mm? For NATO straps the former is easy, the latter is rather uncommon.

You need a tailor...

Who can make a quick modification for you...Very easy to do! Cheers, -- Richard.

How so?

It is not that easy to modify a fabric strap in the way he wants.

So, what you don't like...

Is the fact that there is no taper on Nato straps? Change it for a leather one, then.

Me too. Try the RAF pattern, much better

Or modify the current one in this way.

I purchased a strap from the MARK XVIII EDITION “LAUREUS SPORT FOR GOOD FOUNDATION”

They had a green calf skin option which is one of my favorite straps they make. It arrives soon and I will post pics. Should look awesome!

NATOs don't taper

At least none that I've ever seen. Personally I would go for a leather strap on a pilot's watch anyway.

I've never seen tapering Natos too[nt]

No message body

Correct I have never seen a nato that tapers either.

I just ordered an awesome IWC strap and had to buy the buckle. I decided instead of messing around I like to have things original as aftermarket doesn't feel right. On my seikos I don't mind but anything else it has to be OEM!
