My one yr review of my Invicta Akula Prestige Automatic Stainless Steel Sports watch.
Jul 15, 2020,00:07 AM
I know there are some watch brands we love to hate (although some of Us will never admit to it) but let's put that off to the side for the time being and get back to what's really important
All things horology rather its a $10 Timex or a $1,000,000 Richard Mille. The whole point of watch collecting isn't about who has the most Subs or who got what first it should be more about the passion of enjoying what you have and believe me I'm not ashamed to say this but I happen to be a big fan of Invicta there I said it. for yrs, I've always felt embarrassed just like I've always felt like I had to always hide the fact I'm a register republican but thats a whole other topic lol. Anyways what I'm trying to say is don't feel ashamed/embarrassed for what you like if you get the same amount of joy out of a $10 Timex the same way someone gets out of a million-dollar RM, by all means, go for it. OK, enough of my 2 cents on too my 1 yr review. I bought this Invicta Akula Prestige Sports Watch around late July or early August of 2019 once I saw it I had to have it and I was going through that Blue dial SS spots watch craze you know the one. Since I couldn't drop $60K on a PP Nautilus I, decided to give this model a try and I must say I have 0 regrets for the price I have to give Invicta major props there's something you don't hear every day. Sure it's big but its also rather comfortable now I'm gonna give you my pros. cons and score of what I think of this poor man's PP Nautilus.
Pros
316L SS case and bracelet
52mm from 10 to 4 but measures 58mm from the 9 to 3' Clock
16mm thick
200m WRs or 660ft
Screw down crown
Seiko NH35A automatic movement
Stripped Dial
Date
Lumed hands and hr markers
Cons
Mineral Crystals
Push Pins
Cant switch to rubber straps
Now on to the score from 1-100
Case Size 4
MVMT 8
WR 9
Crystal 4
Comfort 7
Bracelet 5
Design 7
price 6
Lume 6
a total of 56/100
Sure this watch won't win any beauty contest but for the price, these can be found between $200-1k depending on the movement its a fun watch to try out if your thinking of
trying bigger watches or want to see what all the Invicta fuss is about.
The dial uses a Verticle lines instead of Horizontal like on the Nautilus
Bracelet is fine nothing to write home about but its comfortable for the price point and if you look closely you can makeout the I links for Invicta
As you can see the case isn't 100% round but its also not square either I honestly don't know what to call this shape?
Thickness is surprising only 16mm thick which for a watch of this size is pretty thin in my book
And last but not least the tried and true Seiko NH35A
Well, there you have it my one yr review on my Invicta Akula Prestige Automatic SS Sports Watch.
Hope you enjoyed the review
Sorry forgot the lume shot lol.
