I know what you mean...

I think the limited edition is simply something Habring does with all the various retailers. Note that Habring2 is a very small team and they do not have the resource to do too much. So if their retailer comes out with a design and a suggestion, they will try to help them fulfill it. This kind of fall into the independent spirit. As for this design, no it is not a copy. It is vintage inspired and many of the watches between 30s-50s have many similar looking style. The one William Massena designed ls one good example. It looks like Longines but there are many sector dials then. So to be correct, it is a design based on that era specific but not to any brand. This collaboration is with Shellman and maybe you have no idea who is Shellman. Shellman is an ultra reputable store in Tokyo that is very well known for their sale of vintage pieces and their support of independent watchmakers. Shellman is the one that makes Dufour a God in Japan. So, when they collaborated with Habring, they came out with this design and Habring only has the capacity to make 5 each. I'm sure if there's another retailer outside Japan come out a design somewhat similar to this, Habring2 may do it for them too. But firstly, someone has to design the dial.

Mesh vs BOR

 By: CL : December 22nd, 2019-09:17
I have been liking having the Milanese Mesh bracelet and the Beads of Rice bracelet on my Habring2. The good thing about the Milanese mesh is it comes in 3.5mm thickness. The BOR is around 2mm which I find it a bit too thin for a chronograph. Still, both ...

Here, I prefer mesh [nt]

Good to know your preference If I found a BOR in 3.5mm thickness with 18mm width, it will be a torn for me.

Nice watch, the mesh is attractive. [nt]

my friend called it a feminine strap but I guess real man has no worries :P The vintage vibe of the bracelet is fitting to the watch design, which is also vintage inspired.

Exactly! [nt]

But would like to use the mesh on a diver. Can you tell me the brand of the mesh bracelet? Best. René

I think this is the best brand. I cannot find anyone doing good BOR yet.

Thank you very much!

And Merry Christmas! Best. René

That BOR you got

Is one of the best looking. Though a bit rattling I think. Best. René

Yes... this BOR

is a very good quality one but I find that it is too thin for a chronograph. I was hoping for something around 3-3.5mm thick. I believe the one used for Patek 1518, created by GF was around 3-3.5mm thick.

Yours is a 7 row version

But there’s a 9 row one which I think would suit better your Chrono, it is sold by Lobtime in Japan. Picture credit: Lobtime. Best. René ...

I think Lobtime is in HK.

Base on their photos, their BOR bracelets seem to be the same thickness as mine. I have emailed them and will wait to see what they say . Thanks

See what I say

9 row is 2mm wider. Best. ...

Thank you very much!!!

Merry Christmas to you. I will go check to see what is their thickness.

Super cool watch CL

Habring on the radar forever.... I wonder, though, why this dial is so limited? Contradictions come to mind... that make one quibble... why limit a dial that is --while SO stunning-- a reference to Longines or let's be very frank--a straight vintage copy-...

I appreciate your reply very much. True, not a 'copy' just an 'expression' by me. Shellman is familiar to me, and I understand completely. Still, WHY 5 only??? It is so few as to annoy, still. But at the end of the day, my friend, you got one. And I want ...

Hi Mostel...

Happy New Year to you . I do think 5 pieces for a Habring 2 edition in Japan is somehow a correct on. Why? This is not a brand that most people will know , plus shellman is not a place where non Japanese will know. If you contact them now, I have a feelin...

Great inside info CL
