My phone case was a thrown-in from the retail kiosk where I purchased my phone. The craftsmanship of the typical phone case is best described as functionally adequate and the end user doesn't think about it too much..
As for these Caviar cases, well I try to appreciate well-made objects, in whatever form they take. Try is the key word, as I still have opinions and reaction. However, the luxury industry isn't viable if you want to limit people to expressing their individuality for "the right reasons". In light of that, might I suggest that the Rolex Daytona is instantly recognizable, but the Vianney Halter Antiqua would be a better complement to the camera portholes and a step up in "individuality" for the would-be purchaser. I'd also get rid of the fake toggle switches because they'll put undue wear on your distressed jeans pocket.
Imagine in the days of the Blackberry if we had gotten a Ulysse Nardin Chairman with a miniaturized mechanical keyboard instead of a rotor that could barely charge a flashlight.
