Horological Meandering

How many purists have purchased watches and never (or nearly never) sold them and how many keep their collections in a stasis and buy and sell all the time? Added image of Kohei's watch collection ...  

Who knows but I think I’l never sell.

Some long-term, some buying but not much selling lately. I do need to whittle down the fleet though. I give away watches sometimes, or trade, to people who will be a good home for them. Cazalea

But sometimes I wonder if I should shrink a little.

And I’m not really sure why. The idea of selling my watches is unappealing to me. My good friend does it all the time...maybe he likes to haggle...to each his own but I definitely think there is a psychology to both approaches.

I am more of a buy and hold type but I also want to keep the number of watches manageable so I can wear them all often enough, so selling occasionally makes sense to me. Best Andreas

I very rarely sell. In 25 years of collecting I've sold 3 watches I believe. Traded one. The rest have all stayed.
