Marvelous report SJX...
Feb 16, 2008,14:24 PM
Thanks for a GREAT report. Kudos and another round of thanks as well as to the anonymous Purist who gamely allowed all of us to peek into the world of collecting through his eyes. The collection itself comprises a big but not overwhelming part of his watch collecting habits which impressed me a lot more. The mere fact that he wears all his watches out is testament to his maturity as a collector. A seemingly rarer and rarer fact given the proliferation of safe queen status being given to some of horology's All-Stars in somebody's watch boxes somewhere out there. A pity that some of them will not see the light and air that they deserve. They must be jealous of the wrist time this Purist collector gives to ALL his watches.
Thanks again SJX!!

A lot of us will recognize themself, not reffering to the watches owned by this great Collector, but for the thoughts... A story behind each watch, soem experiences with Patek, etc... I also love when this Collector says that watches are made to be worn.....
It's disturbing...

when a company's products are readily available from third parties but not from the company itself....even more disturbing that someone with a wristwatch repeater and a couple of museum-quality pocket watches was only deemed worthy to buy an Annual Calend...
