Lol no...

I have been collecting for 20years. I think after a certain time I decided to stay away from watches with dates, and sometimes even moonphase. As I rotate everyday I try to minimize my time setting watches.
On a side note, this is a big difference between collecting now and back then. I realize most of us used to own a handful of watches only, but it's become a norm to own many many watches. This is probably encouraged by ease of liquidating watches when we get tired of them and the sheer amount of watches coming online every year at watch fairs and events.
I can still appreciate them though. But I have gotten very fussy about the date mechanism. The ALS is quite clever but I feel it shouldn't have a date(or chiming function) as it diluted the original aesthetics. The VC has a nice case and dial. The font is consistent throughout, movement is decent and watch is attractively priced. LF has consistently shined with their aethetics, but I don't like the movement in this watch. It feels like a cop out compared to their other offerings. Personally I think whoever is taking care of the aesthetics at LF is quite gifted. Patek's selection of font though not of their DNA is quite whimsical and I like it. Case is nice. They have again recycled their movement from their current range which resulted in construction restriction, which lead to the awkward placement of the date.
